REL T-7x Subwoofer, Black High Gloss (Single)

The REL T-7x is an active-passive subwoofer of the T series (active 8" front + passive 10" downward-firing, FibreAlloy), REL's entry-level and mid-range line for music and home cinema systems, driven by a Class A/B amplifier. It's designed for musicality rather than sheer loudness.

Why the REL T-7x?

The T series is REL's "little brother" to the flagship S series – same underlying philosophy, but more compact dimensions and prices. The T-7x uses active 8" front + passive 10" downward-firing, FibreAlloy and is driven by a Class A/B amplifier, which according to REL delivers a fast, musical attack rather than lazy cinema thump.

What you hear

Rather than pushing itself to the front with loud, imprecise bass, the T-7x complements your main speakers via the high-level input like a third, deep voice in the sound picture. Basslines, kick drums and film scores gain noticeably more foundation without the subwoofer standing out as its own sound source.

Who is the REL T-7x suitable for?

The T-7x suits music listeners with small to medium speakers who want noticeable but controlled depth, as well as combined music/home cinema rooms. Honestly: if you're mainly after loud home cinema in a large room, you're better off with the HT series or a larger T or S model – the T-7x is tuned for precision, not maximum level.

Our verdict

The REL T-7x shows why REL has been the reference for musical subwoofers for decades: fast, controlled bass instead of boom. For its price and size class, one of the most honest recommendations in the lineup.

Frequently asked questions

How is the REL T-7x connected correctly?
Best via the included high-level Speakon connection directly to your amplifier's speaker outputs – this keeps the subwoofer tonally closer to the character of your main speakers than a pure LFE input would.

What room size is the T-7x designed for?
The T-7x is designed for small to medium rooms and also suits near-field setups. For larger rooms, we recommend a larger T model or stepping up to the S series.

Can I combine two REL T-7x?
Yes, two subwoofers in stereo or dual-mono operation give a more even bass response in the room and are explicitly supported by REL – get in touch if you're interested, we'll advise you on positioning.

Why buy the REL T-7x from HD Zürisee?
We've specialized in hi-fi in Wädenswil since 1997 and advise you on integration into your existing system as well as optimal placement in the room. Get in touch by phone, WhatsApp or email.
