Hat der Rega Osiris symmetrische XLR-Eingänge?

Ja.

The Rega Osiris is a reference integrated amplifier combining two fully separate mono amplifier stages in a CNC-milled aluminium chassis – purely analogue, with no DAC, no phono stage, no network. It's Rega's most uncompromising integrated amplifier statement.

162 watts into 8 ohms, over 25 kilograms, a single purpose: amplification. Anyone who arrives at this point isn't looking for a feature list any more, but for the truth in their recordings.

Why the Osiris?

Because it puts physics above marketing. Two custom-made 400 VA toroidal transformers and a genuine dual-mono construction deliver abundant current reserves and separate the channels so cleanly that a three-dimensional soundstage emerges. The signal path is deliberately kept minimalist – no unnecessary switches, no active preamp stage adding noise. That's exactly what you hear: an amplifier that gets out of its own way.

What you hear

Control. The Osiris takes even low-sensitivity or impedance-critical speakers firmly in hand, stops and accelerates the drivers with pinpoint precision, and stays completely composed even through large dynamic swings. Complex orchestral passages that make other amplifiers sweat sound relaxed and organised here. Straight talk: this isn't a warm, softened sound, but honest, authoritative reproduction.

Who is the Osiris for?

For listeners who have reached their destination and have no interest in further upgrades. It needs separate sources – a DAC, a phono stage, a player – because at this level, any built-in circuit board would disturb the magnetic field of the large transformers. Honestly: if you're looking for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or a built-in streamer, this isn't for you. If you want maximum analogue purity, this is exactly right.

Our verdict

The Osiris isn't a sensible purchase, it's a statement of devotion to music – a workhorse built to last for decades. A device at this level deserves a cleanly planned chain and a room where you really listen. That's exactly where HD Zürisee comes in: we put together the system around the Osiris and set it up at your home in Wädenswil and around Lake Zurich.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Rega Osiris have balanced XLR inputs?

Yes. The Osiris has a dedicated balanced XLR input alongside four RCA line inputs and a Direct-In. The XLR connection is especially worthwhile with long cable runs or a reference-level source, to avoid interference pickup on the way to the amplifier.

Which speakers suit the Osiris?

Practically all of them. Thanks to its enormous current delivery, the Osiris controls large floorstanding speakers just as authoritatively as low-sensitivity compact speakers. It supplies the reserves to guide drivers precisely – even with demanding impedance curves. We're happy to work out with you which combination suits your room.

Does the Osiris need additional devices?

Yes, it's a pure amplifier with no DAC and no phono stage. For streaming, CD or vinyl you'll need separate sources – deliberately designed this way so no electronics disturb the analogue section. We'll put together the right Rega sources and cabling to go with it.

Why buy the Rega Osiris at HD Zürisee?

Because a reference amplifier deserves reference-level care. We've been at home in the hi-fi world for decades, know Rega's devices in detail, and plan the whole chain around the Osiris. Delivery, setup and service are handled by our own technician Mauri – in person, here in Wädenswil.

Goes well with

The Osiris unfolds its full potential with equally capable partners: high-quality floorstanding speakers, a matching CD player or streamer as a source, a phono preamplifier for vinyl, and clean cables. Find more Rega components in the brand overview.
