The Rega Brio MK7 is a compact integrated amplifier with a built-in DAC and MM phono stage, combining Rega's legendary sense of fun for the first time with digital inputs in a half-width chassis.
50 watts into 8 ohms, solid aluminium, a classic now in its seventh generation: the Brio MK7 packs a lot of music into a small footprint – and is now ready for digital sources too.
Why the Brio MK7?
Because it has rhythm in its blood. The Class-A driver stage keeps the transistors in their optimal operating range, giving that warm, almost valve-like Rega sound. New on the MK7: a built-in converter with optical and coaxial digital inputs – so you can connect a streamer, CD player or TV directly. The much-loved MM phono stage remains, and component isolation has been further improved.
What you hear
Momentum and sheer fun. The Brio MK7 drives standmount speakers with springy, controlled bass and brings an energy that colder digital amplifiers often lack. It puts instruments cleanly in their place and simply makes you want to keep listening. Straight talk: small in size, but with grown-up substance.
Who is the Brio MK7 for?
For anyone who wants serious hi-fi in a small footprint – ideal for a living room, office or bedroom with standmount speakers and a turntable. Honestly: for a big loft with low-sensitivity floorstanders at high volume, it's stretched too thin – then the Elex MK4 is worth a look. For enjoyable listening in a normal room, there's hardly anything more musical.
Our verdict
The Brio MK7 is the best Brio yet: the same sense of fun, now with DAC and digital inputs. A compact integrated amplifier that punches well above its size. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil we'll show you which speakers get the best out of it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I connect my TV to the Brio MK7?
Yes. Unlike earlier Brio generations, the MK7 has a built-in DAC with optical and coaxial digital inputs. Simply connect the TV via the optical output – no additional converter is needed.
Which speakers suit the Brio MK7?
Best paired with high-resolution standmount speakers, such as the Rega Kyte, or efficient small floorstanders. The Brio gives them warmth and foundation. For very large or low-sensitivity speakers, we recommend the Elex MK4.
How good is the built-in phono input?
Very good. The Brio's MM phono input has enjoyed cult status for years and performs at the level of many separate entry- to mid-level phono preamplifiers. So for an MM turntable, you don't need anything extra.
