Is the Apheta 3 cartridge fitted at the factory?

No. The Apheta 3 is included but unmounted. We professionally fit it onto the RB3000 tonearm at HD Zürisee and align tracking force, azimuth and anti-skate. That way, the reference chain plays exactly as precisely as it was built to from the very start.

What's the difference between the SE 1 and the SE 2?

Both are built on the Planar 10 with the AOS phono stage. The SE 1 comes with the Apheta 3, the SE 2 with the even finer Aphelion 2, Rega's flagship cartridge. Sonically, the SE 2 extracts the very last nuances – the SE 1 is the somewhat more sensible reference.

Do I also need an amplifier?

Yes. The set covers turntable, cartridge and phono stage. The AOS delivers a line-level signal for any amplifier with a high-level input. Amplifier and speakers are not included – we'll help you put together the right chain at reference level.
