The Rega Nd7 is an MM cartridge with a fine-line diamond cut, which Rega recommends as the top model of the MM range for the Planar 3, Planar 6 and Planar 8.
With a fine-line diamond instead of a simple ellipse, the Nd7 pulls even more fine detail out of the groove, without putting more strain on your record collection than its more affordable siblings. For anyone who wants the maximum from MM before moving to moving coil.
Is the Nd7 better than an entry-level MC like the Ania?
Both play in a similar price range; sonically they differ more in character than in quality – the Nd7 stays easier to align (MM), the Ania brings the typical MC character. We're happy to advise you on the choice.
Which tonearm suits the Nd7 best?
Rega recommends it for the RB330 (Planar 3/6) and the RB880 (Planar 8) – but it runs without issue on all current Rega tonearms with 3-point mounting.
