The Raidho TD6 is the large 3-way floorstanding speaker and current flagship of the Danish manufacturer Raidho – with two Tantalum-Diamond midrange drivers, six 8-inch Tantalum-Diamond woofers and the in-house ribbon tweeter in a modular cabinet.

Introduced at High End Munich 2022, the TD6 is Raidho's uncompromising answer to a simple question: how close can a speaker at home get to a real concert? Very close – provided the room and system play along.

Why the Raidho TD6?

As the flagship, the TD6 bundles everything Raidho can do. The "TD" stands for Tantalum-Diamond: the diaphragms carry a multi-layer coating of ceramic, tantalum and diamond that makes them extremely stiff and drastically lowers resonances. They're driven by powerful N52 neodymium magnets with titanium voice coils – this keeps movement linear and distortion low, even when it gets loud.

The modular cabinet construction and the rear-firing reflex system with six ports deliver bass that stays deep and controlled at the same time. Above it all sits the handmade ribbon tweeter. The large, adjustable feet with ceramic ball decoupling – a hallmark of the TD series – cleanly decouple the massive cabinet from the floor.

What you hear

An almost holographic image: musicians stand tangibly in the room, and the soundstage extends far beyond the speakers. The bass goes right down into the basement without ever becoming bloated, and even over hours and at high levels, listening stays relaxed rather than fatiguing. Whether electronic beats or a full orchestra – the TD6 stays composed. "Just one more track" quickly becomes a lie you tell yourself here.

Who is the Raidho TD6 suited for?

For large rooms, powerful amplification (Raidho recommends more than 100 watts) and listeners seeking the uncompromising statement. Bottom line: the TD6 stands over two metres tall and weighs as much as an adult person – this is not a speaker for the average living room, and not an impulse purchase. Anyone with the space, the electronics and the ambition gets in return one of the most consistent reproductions possible at home.

Our verdict

The TD6 is Raidho's "as close as possible to the original" in its purest form – a genuine state-of-the-art speaker for the few who can actually set it up. It flatters nothing and adds nothing; it shows the recording as it is. Speakers like this aren't bought on price, but on experience. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil we're happy to give you an honest opinion on whether the TD6 suits your room and your system – and where a smaller Raidho model might be the wiser choice.

Frequently asked questions

What amplifier does the Raidho TD6 need?
The TD6 wants to be driven confidently – Raidho recommends more than 100 watts. With 87 dB sensitivity and 8 ohm impedance it's not a power glutton, but it's no special case either. What matters is a high-quality, powerful power amplifier; at HD Zürisee we'll find the right combination with you.

How big does the room need to be for the Raidho TD6?
The TD6 stands over two metres tall and is built for large rooms. In small rooms it can't unfold its potential and quickly looks oversized. As a rule of thumb: the more room and listening distance, the better. We're happy to advise whether your room fits or whether a smaller model makes more sense.

What's the difference between the TD6 and the TD4.8?
The TD6 is Raidho's flagship and is scaled up once more compared to the TD4.8 – with 8-inch woofers instead of 6.5-inch and a taller, modular cabinet. The TD4.8 already performs at reference level but fits somewhat smaller rooms. Which one is right depends mainly on room and system.

What finishes is the Raidho TD6 available in?
At HD Zürisee the TD6 is available in Piano Black and in Walnut Burl (burl wood veneer). Custom lacquers are also possible through Raidho on request. Sonically the finishes don't differ – the choice is purely a matter of taste and interior design.
