Wie oft sollte ich die Nadel bürsten?

Laut Ortofon bei jeder neuen Platte und bei jedem Seitenwechsel, also mehrmals pro Abend. Ein paar sanfte Striche genügen. Das hält die Nadelspitze frei von Staub und schont Nadel und Rille, ohne dass du Flüssigkeit oder zusätzliche Reiniger brauchst.

In welche Richtung bürste ich?

Immer vom Tonabnehmerkörper nach vorne zur Nadelspitze, entlang des Nadelträgers. Nie seitlich und nie von der Nadelspitze zurück. So drückst du den Nadelträger nicht aus seiner Lage und schiebst den Schmutz nicht ins System hinein.

Ersetzt die Bürste die Plattenreinigung?

Nein. Sie reinigt die Nadel, nicht die Platte. Ein sauberes Plattenbild hält die Nadel zwar länger sauber, aber wer verstaubte Platten spielt, bürstet öfter. Für die Platten selbst führen wir Bürsten und Reinigungsmittel im Plattenspieler-Zubehör.

The Ortofon Stylus Brush Fibre is a fibre brush for cleaning the stylus, which you run briefly along the cantilever at every record change.

A small thing with great leverage: dust on the stylus sounds like crackle and gnaws at stylus and groove – and the brush is the cheapest insurance against it.

How often should I brush the stylus?

According to Ortofon, with every new record and every side change, so several times an evening. A few gentle strokes are enough. It keeps the stylus tip free of dust and protects stylus and groove, without liquids or extra cleaners.

Which direction do I brush?

Always from the cartridge body forward to the stylus tip, along the cantilever. Never sideways and never back from the tip. That way you do not push the cantilever out of position or sweep dirt into the cartridge.

Does the brush replace record cleaning?

No. It cleans the stylus, not the record. Clean records keep the stylus clean longer, but if you play dusty records you will brush more often. For the records themselves we carry brushes and cleaners among the turntable accessories.
