The NAD C379 is a stereo integrated amplifier with DAC and MM phono that, in this version, plays as a high-res network streamer from the moment you switch it on – thanks to a factory-fitted MDC2 BluOS-D module – complete with BluOS, Dirac Live and HDMI eARC.

On paper a powerhouse with 2 × 150 watts, in the living room above all calm, controlled and ready to stream from the first minute. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil you get it ready to go – unbox, plug in, listen, without fitting a single module yourself.

Why this version with built-in BluOS

The C379 is inherently an amplifier with an MDC2 slot – in this variant, we've already filled that slot with the MDC2 BluOS-D module. That saves you buying it separately and fitting it later, turning the classic powerhouse straight into a fully-fledged streaming hub. The HybridDigital UcD power stage with PowerDrive delivers 2 × 150 watts of continuous power on top (briefly up to 250 watts into 8 Ω, 380 watts into 4 Ω) – plenty of headroom to keep even power-hungry speakers firmly under control.

What the built-in module can do

With the BluOS-D module you stream losslessly over BluOS multiroom, get internet radio plus services like Qobuz or Tidal straight into the unit, and integrate the C379 via AirPlay 2. Via HDMI eARC it becomes the heart of your TV setup, and Dirac Live room correction digitally tunes the sound to your room – no more boomy bass in the wrong corner. Vinyl plays via the low-noise MM phono input, and two subwoofer outputs with digital crossover make the C379 a clean base for a 2.1 system.

Who is this version made for – and who isn't it for?

Straight talk: Exactly right if you want uncompromising stereo power and ready-made streaming from one unit, without having to think about modules. If you'd rather add the BluOS module yourself later, or listen purely in analogue at first, get the bare C379 version. And if you're only after a small system for the bedroom, the C379's 2 × 150 watts is clearly overkill.

Our verdict

The sensible powerhouse, now without waiting for streaming: plenty of power, honest connectivity and a ready-built BluOS hub. An amplifier you buy and then don't feel like parting with for a long time. Tell us which speakers you have or are planning – we'll tell you honestly whether the C379 brings the right amount of power.

Frequently asked questions

Is streaming already built into this C379?

Yes. The MDC2 BluOS-D module is fitted at the factory. The C379 is therefore a full-blooded BluOS streamer with Dirac Live, AirPlay 2 and HDMI eARC without any upgrade needed. You don't have to buy or have a module fitted separately – the unit is ready to go.

What exactly can the BluOS-D module do?

It turns the C379 into a streaming hub: lossless BluOS multiroom, services like Qobuz, Tidal and Spotify, internet radio, AirPlay 2 as well as HDMI eARC for the TV. On top of that comes Dirac Live, which digitally tunes the sound to your listening room via a calibration microphone.

Do I need a paid subscription for the C379?

No. The C379 also plays without a subscription: internet radio, network files, a turntable via phono, TV via HDMI eARC and Bluetooth from your smartphone. Streaming services like Qobuz or Tidal are an option, not a requirement.

How much power does the C379 have?

The C379 delivers 2 × 150 watts continuous power into 8 and 4 ohms, thanks to PowerDrive briefly up to 250 watts into 8 Ω and 380 watts into 4 Ω. That confidently drives even large or demanding floorstanding speakers and stays in control of the bass even at high levels.

Why buy the NAD C379 at HD Zürisee?

Because we know the C379, not just its spec sheet. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil we advise you on which speakers suit it and how to get the most out of Dirac and BluOS. As an authorised NAD specialist dealer we handle warranty and service – get in touch by phone, email or WhatsApp.

Goes well with: floorstanding speakers, bookshelf speakers, a turntable for the phono input, a subwoofer and good speaker cables.
