The NAD C328 is a slim stereo integrated amplifier with DAC that combines 2× 50 watts of HybridDigital power, an MM phono stage and Bluetooth aptX in a flat cabinet.

An unfussy classic from the Classic Series: everything you need, nothing you don't.

Why the NAD C328?

Because it gets the essentials right and leaves out the rest. The HybridDigital power stage sounds punchier than the 2× 50 watts suggest – thanks to PowerDrive reserves it stays composed even at demanding moments while remaining cool and quiet. Phono and Bluetooth are built in from the factory, and the flat cabinet fits into any shelf.

What you get

The C328 covers the basics cleanly: a low-noise MM phono stage with infrasonic filter for the turntable, one optical and one coaxial digital input each for CD player, TV or console, a line input and Bluetooth aptX for your smartphone. Plus a subwoofer output and a headphone output. No frills, but everything an honest stereo system needs.

Who is the NAD C328 suited for – and who isn't it for?

The ideal entry point for anyone looking for a clean, uncomplicated integrated amplifier with phono. Straight talk: the C328 has no HDMI connection and no network streaming – if you want to connect your TV via HDMI eARC or want built-in Wi-Fi streaming, look at the C3030 or C3050. For large rooms or hard-to-drive speakers, a step up is also worth considering.

Our verdict

The C328 is the honest bread-and-butter amplifier in the best sense: quiet, powerful enough, with phono and Bluetooth from the factory. Anyone looking for a reliable entry into serious stereo won't go far wrong here.

Frequently asked questions

Does the NAD C328 have a phono input for a turntable?

Yes, a low-noise MM phono stage is built in. You connect a turntable with a moving-magnet cartridge directly, without a separate phono preamp. MC cartridges need an additional preamp. That makes the C328 an affordable, clean entry into serious vinyl listening.

Does the NAD C328 have an HDMI connection for the TV?

No, the C328 has no HDMI input. For the TV you use the optical or coaxial digital input, provided your TV outputs it, or the line input. If you want HDMI eARC with volume controlled from the TV remote, take a look at the C3030 or C3050.

Can I use the NAD C328 via Bluetooth?

Yes. The C328 has Bluetooth with aptX on board. You stream directly from your smartphone, tablet or laptop in good quality, without extra hardware. An optical and a coaxial digital input are also available for a CD player, TV or console.

Which speakers suit the NAD C328?

With 2× 50 watts of HybridDigital power and PowerDrive reserves, the C328 confidently drives most bookshelf and compact floorstanding speakers in small to medium-sized rooms. For large rooms or especially hard-to-drive speakers, we're happy to advise you on a suitable step up.
