Why two 461s?

Because two power amplifiers are more than double the power: in mono-bridge mode, each 461 drives one speaker with up to 450 W at 8 Ω – dedicated, with shorter signal paths and maximum control. Alternatively, use them in bi-amping to drive the tweeter and woofer sections separately. Bought separately, two 461s together cost CHF 9,160; as a Power Pack CHF 8,780 – a saving of CHF 380.

Who is this Power Pack for – and who isn't it for?

Ideal for anyone who already owns or is planning a preamp (such as the MOON 491) and wants to upgrade the power amplification to two dedicated monoblocks.

Straight talk: without a preamp, the Power Pack makes no sense – these are pure power amplifiers. If you want streaming and volume control included as well, get the Streaming Pack 2 (with the 491) or the 461 + 491 set.

Do I need a preamp for the Power Pack?
Yes. The Power Pack consists of pure power amplifiers and needs a preamplifier, such as the MOON 491. If you want a preamp and streaming included, the Streaming Pack 2 (2× 461 + 491) is the complete solution.

What does mono-bridge operation bring?
In mono-bridge, each 461 drives a single speaker at full power – up to 450 W at 8 Ω. This brings more headroom, better channel separation and more control over demanding speakers than a single stereo power amp.
