LG 86MRGB96B9B

The LG 86MRGB96B9B is an 86-inch 4K TV with Micro RGB evo technology (Mini LED) and alpha 11 Gen3 processor – a premium LED with triple 100% color coverage, the bright alternative to OLED for light-flooded rooms.

86 inches (218 cm) is the sweet spot of the Micro RGB 96 series: a large screen for that home cinema feeling, still living-room friendly from around 2.5 meters of seating distance.

Why the LG 86MRGB96B9B?

Because Micro RGB combines color and brightness that usually live apart. Independent RGB light units instead of white LEDs behind a color filter give you reference-level color purity at a peak brightness no OLED reaches. The alpha 11 Gen3 with Dual AI Engine upscales even Full HD sources cleanly to 4K. webOS 26 brings all the services plus Gemini and Copilot.

What you see

An extremely bright, color-accurate picture with triple 100% color coverage – DCI-P3, Adobe RGB and BT.2020 at once: every color space, every piece of content displayed correctly. Plus Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG as well as Dolby Atmos for the sound.

Who is the 86MRGB96B9B suited for – and who isn't it for?

Straight talk: Ideal for the larger, bright living room with a bit of seating distance, if you want a big screen and color accuracy without going all the way to 100 inches. In a darkened home cinema room, where perfect black comes first, OLED can be the better choice. The flat body doesn't deliver deep bass – plan for sound separately.

What's the difference between Micro RGB and OLED?

OLED lights up pixel by pixel and delivers perfect black, but doesn't get as bright. Micro RGB (Mini LED with independent RGB light units) reaches significantly higher peak brightness with very pure color – the better choice for bright rooms. We'll show you which type suits your room in a direct comparison.

Frequently asked questions

Is Micro RGB better than OLED in a bright living room?

With a lot of daylight, yes: the high peak brightness wins out against reflections and ambient light, where OLED loses impact. In a darkened room, OLED stays ahead on black level. We're happy to compare both in the shop.

How much seating distance does an 86-inch TV need?

For 86 inches, around 2.5 to 3.5 meters is comfortable – close enough for that cinema feeling, far enough to keep the whole picture in view. Less works fine with 4K too, then you sit very much inside the picture. We're happy to look at your room and the right distance with you.
