HiFi Set AVM AS 30.3 + Audition CB 2.3, Silver

The AVM AS 30.3 + Audition CB 2.3 HiFi set is a complete stereo system made up of the AVM AS 30.3 streaming integrated amplifier in Silver and a pair of AVM Audition CB 2.3 bookshelf speakers with a silver aluminium front baffle.

In Silver, the combination looks classic and clean: the amplifier and speakers come from the same house in Malsch and are matched to each other. All you need is a pair of speaker cables and your music – streamed, from a turntable, or via your TV.

Why buy it as a set?

Because hunting down matching components is the real work. Here, power, impedance and tuning already fit together from the factory: 2 × 125 watts into 4 Ω meet a speaker with 4 Ω nominal impedance and 140 watts of power handling – no datasheet Tetris, no fine-tuning needed. One slim unit plus two compact speakers add up to a full-fledged system without a tower of components.

What's in the set?

The AVM AS 30.3 streaming integrated amplifier in Silver is a hand-built all-in-one with 2 × 125 watts, a selected ESS DAC (9038 Q2M) and the AVM X-STREAM engine – complete with AirPlay 2, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, HighResAudio, internet radio, Bluetooth 5.0 and HDMI ARC for your TV. Importantly, it has a full phono input, switchable between MM and MC – so a turntable can be connected directly. It has no CD drive; that's reserved for its sister model, the AVM CS 30.3.

Alongside it comes a pair of AVM Audition CB 2.3 with a silver aluminium front baffle: compact 2-way bass-reflex speakers with a 160 mm sandwich woofer and fabric dome tweeter, crossover frequency 1850 Hz, 37 Hz to 50 kHz frequency range. The ultra-high-density fibre cabinet is available in gloss Black or gloss White, and a height-adjustable third foot tilts the speaker towards the listening position.

Who is this set suited for – and who isn't it for?

Ideal for anyone who wants a complete, high-quality system for small to medium-sized living rooms without having to worry about matching components. Straight talk: the AS 30.3 has no CD drive – if you want to load CDs, get the set with the AVM CS 30.3 instead. If you're filling a very large room, think about floorstanding speakers instead of the compact CB 2.3. And if you already own an amplifier or speakers, you're better off with the individual components.

Our verdict

This set is the short answer to a long question: a full-fledged streaming system with phono, in two boxes, set up in half an hour. Silver is the finish you'll still enjoy looking at in ten years. We're happy to work out together which placement works best in your room at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil – by phone, email or WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

What's included in the AVM AS 30.3 + Audition CB 2.3 HiFi set?

The AVM AS 30.3 streaming integrated amplifier in Silver with RC-3 remote control and a pair of AVM Audition CB 2.3 bookshelf speakers. That's a complete stereo system – all that's missing is speaker cable and your music source. Both components come from the same manufacturer and are matched to each other.

Does this set have a phono input for a turntable?

Yes. The AS 30.3 has a full phono input, switchable between MM and MC. You don't need an external phono stage – a turntable connects directly to the unit. If you also want to play CDs, get the set with the AVM CS 30.3 and its slot-in drive instead.

What colours are the speakers in this set available in?

The Audition CB 2.3 cabinet is available in gloss Black or gloss White; the front baffle in this set is silver aluminium. At an extra cost, AVM also supplies the baffle chrome-plated. There's no difference in sound between the finishes.

Is this set enough for my living room?

For small to medium-sized rooms, yes. The CB 2.3 dig surprisingly deep for their size, and 2 × 125 watts leaves plenty of headroom. From around 35 square metres, or with open-plan layouts, it's worth talking about larger speakers – we're happy to advise you on that.

Why buy the AVM AS 30.3 set at HD Zürisee?

Because we have an experienced team in Wädenswil who know from hands-on practice which combination works in which room. As an authorised AVM dealer, we set up streaming and network, sort out the warranty, and have our own technician, Mauri, in-house.
