The Grado DJ200i Replacement Stylus is the original replacement for the DJ200i DJ cartridge and is supplied by Grado as standard in a twin pack.

There's a reason for that: anyone working with records doesn't want to discover mid-set that there's no spare stylus in the case.

Why two at once?

In DJ use, higher tracking forces come into play, along with backspinning and scratching – the stylus works considerably harder than on a home system. A second one in the case isn't a precaution, it's standard equipment. And when both turntables are running at once, you need them in pairs anyway.

What you get

Two original stylus assemblies from Grado with a highly polished diamond in a brass bushing. Fit it, check the tracking force, carry on – the cartridge body stays on the headshell.

Who is this stylus for?

For owners of a Grado DJ200i. Straight talk: it doesn't belong on the Prestige systems Green3, Red3 or Gold3, and it's not made for audiophile fine detail either – it's optimised for security in the groove, not ultimate resolution.

Our verdict

Consumable for people who actually use their gear. Two in the box isn't a marketing bundle, it's simply practical necessity.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly does a DJ stylus wear out?

Considerably faster than in home use. The reasons are the higher tracking force, backspinning the record and often also the condition of the vinyl. There's no fixed hour count, so check the stylus tip regularly and replace it as soon as the sound turns dull or distorted.

Can I swap the stylus mid-set?

Yes, that's exactly the point of the pull-off assembly. The cartridge body stays on the headshell, so the geometry remains correct afterwards. Just double-check tracking force and anti-skate, then you're good to go – a matter of seconds during a set.

Why buy Grado styli from HD Zürisee?

Because we source them through the official Swiss distributor rather than a marketplace full of copies. HD Zürisee in Wädenswil also advises you on the right setup around your turntable. A call or a WhatsApp message is all it takes.
