Gold Note PSU-10 EVO Power Supply for Series 10, Gold

The Gold Note PSU-10 EVO is an external inductive power supply for the digital units of the Series 10 that feeds the DS-10 EVO streaming DAC, the HP-10 headphone amplifier and the CD-10 CD player with filtered power.

The DS-10, DS-10 PLUS and the CD-5 benefit from it too. This version comes in gold anodised, brushed aluminium.

Why the PSU-10 EVO?

Digital units are both sources and victims of interference: clocks, processors and network chips like a calm supply. The PSU-10 EVO works with four transformers – three for the supply, one for the inductive filter – four audio-grade rails and two ultra-low-noise voltage regulators. With 70 watts of power consumption and more than 100 watts of dynamic reserve, it is designed to be stronger than the phono-specific PSU-10. Even a DAC deserves not to be skimped on at the socket for once.

What you hear

Gold Note promises less interference, more dynamics and resolution as well as finer detail. With the DS-10 EVO and the HP-10 this typically shows up as calmer, more stable imaging and a clearer background – through loudspeakers just as through headphones, where such differences are often perceived especially directly.

Who is the PSU-10 EVO for?

For anyone with a DS-10, DS-10 PLUS, DS-10 EVO, DS-10 EVO LINE, HP-10, CD-10 or CD-5 who wants to improve their unit specifically. Bottom line: The PSU-10 EVO is expressly not compatible with the PH-10 phono stage – the PSU-10 is intended for that. And if you don’t own a Series 10 unit yet, you’re better off starting with the unit itself.

Gold Note names the DS-10, DS-10 PLUS, DS-10 EVO, DS-10 EVO LINE, HP-10, CD-10 and CD-5. It is not compatible with the PH-10 phono stage – the PSU-10 is intended for that. If you own an older or different unit, we will gladly check compatibility for you before you buy.
