The Gold Note Diana Center is a sealed two-way centre speaker with three drivers that extends the Diana series into a home cinema system and, above all, reproduces dialogue clearly and in sync with the picture.
This version is all black: Black Rebel fabric and a black phaser in front of the tweeter – the Diana Center blends into the room as discreetly as possible. Supplied as a single speaker.
Why the Diana Center?
Because it is Gold Note's first speaker for home cinema – and fits consistently into the Diana family. Two 6.5-inch treated paper mid-woofers flank the 1.1-inch silk dome, and the crossover point is at 2900 Hz, just as with Diana I and II. Same tweeter, same tuning: voices therefore sound the same in the centre as on the left and right when a character walks across the screen. The phaser in front of the tweeter cleanly extends the treble, and resonators stiffen the cabinet.
Unlike the bookshelf speakers, the centre is a sealed design – without a bass reflex port. This makes it insensitive to placement on a sideboard or close to a wall, exactly where centre speakers end up in real living rooms.
What you hear
Dialogue that doesn't disappear behind explosions. With 91 dB sensitivity, the Diana Center responds quickly and doesn't need huge power; Gold Note recommends 10 to 120 watts. It reaches down to 60 Hz – just right for a centre, because in a home cinema the deep bass is handled by the subwoofer anyway. The fabric made from recycled fibres, Made in Italy, swallows no details and is easy to clean.
Who is the Diana Center for?
For anyone who owns or plans a stereo pair of Diana I or Diana II and wants to turn it into a home cinema without a visual break in style. Straight talk: at 46 centimetres wide and 11 kilos, it's no dwarf – measure your TV furniture first. And it's no substitute for a stereo pair: a centre is a team player, not a soloist. Combine it with speakers from other brands and you'll still get good dialogue, but you'll give away the seamless tonal match.
Our verdict
The Diana Center closes the gap between beautiful stereo and real home cinema – in such a way that nobody in the room notices there's actually a cinema here until the film starts. Hand on heart: how often have you reached for the remote during a film because the voices were too quiet? Get advice from HD Zürisee in Wädenswil – we'll plan the whole system with you, from the AV receiver to the subwoofer.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Diana Center match the Diana I and Diana II?
Yes, that's what it's built for. It uses the same 1.1-inch silk tweeter with phaser and the same 2900 Hz crossover frequency as the two bookshelf speakers. As a result, voices sound identical across all three front channels and movements across the screen feel seamless. You choose fabric and phaser colour to match your front speakers.
Do I need a subwoofer with the Diana Center?
In a home cinema, a subwoofer makes sense. The Diana Center reaches down to 60 Hz and is designed for speech and midrange, while the deep effects bass is ideally handled by a subwoofer. In the AV receiver you set the centre to «small» and choose a suitable crossover frequency. That keeps it clean and robust, even at high levels.
Can I place the Diana Center on TV furniture?
Yes. The sealed cabinet without a bass reflex port makes it insensitive to wall proximity and furniture placement. Make sure you have a stable surface at least 46 centimetres wide and 37.5 centimetres deep, and align the tweeter as close to ear height as possible. A slight tilt towards the listening position further improves speech intelligibility.
Why buy the Gold Note Diana Center from HD Zürisee?
Because a home cinema is more than the sum of its speakers. We match centre, front speakers, subwoofer and AV receiver to each other, and our own technician takes care of installation and calibration at your home if you wish. On top of that you get long-standing experience, honest advice and support after the purchase too.
Goes well with
Matching AV receivers to drive it, a powerful subwoofer for the foundation and, as front speakers, the Diana models among the bookshelf speakers. Plus high-quality speaker cables.
