Gato Audio DPA-2506 Multichannel Power Amplifier, Custom Colour High Gloss

The Gato Audio DPA-2506 is a configurable six-channel power amplifier in Class-D technology that can be made to order in an individual high-gloss finish.

Technically this version is identical to the standard colours: three amplifier modules with two channels each, each pair bridgeable, inputs balanced via XLR and unbalanced via RCA, six speaker pairs on the connection panel and a 12-volt trigger for automatic switching on and off. The difference is in the finish: Gato paints the housing in your custom shade, always in high gloss. The image in the gallery shows a sample colour – you choose the actual custom colour freely. Supplied as a single unit.

Why the Gato Audio DPA-2506?

Because here you decide freely twice over: once how power is distributed across your rooms, and once what colour the unit wears while doing it. Six individual channels for multiroom, bridged pairs for thirsty speakers, or a mix – plus a housing that adapts to your décor instead of the other way round. What you get

Power that you allocate yourself. In six-channel operation, 250 watts at 8 ohms each, bridged up to 900 watts at 8 ohms on one channel, at 4 ohms 500 or 1050 watts respectively. Total harmonic distortion under 0.01 percent at rated power, signal-to-noise ratio above 110 dB, frequency response reaching up to 70 kHz. The non-magnetic housing cleanly separates the modules, and Class D keeps heat output in check with 75 watts idle consumption.

Who is the DPA-2506 suited to – and who isn't it for?

For multiroom systems, home cinemas and installations where a central unit supplies several pairs of speakers – and especially for projects where the electronics stay visible and need to match the colour scheme. Straight talk: for a pure stereo system in the living room, the power amp is oversized, and the custom finish extends the lead time. If you're in a hurry, a standard colour is the better route.

How many speakers does the DPA-2506 drive?

Up to six channels, so three stereo pairs across separate zones, at 250 watts at 8 ohms each. If you bridge modules, the channel count drops and power rises to up to 900 watts at 8 ohms per bridged channel. Mixed configurations are possible.

What do I need in addition to the DPA-2506?

A preamp, AV preamp or an integrated amplifier with a preamp output, since the power amp has neither volume control nor source selection. Plus speaker cable for the channels in use and XLR or RCA cable to the preamp. Nothing more is needed for operation.
