Focal Aria EVO X N°4/N°1/Center Set, Gloss Black (Set)

The Focal Aria EVO X N°4/N°1/Center Set is a large-format, matched home-cinema front from the French Aria EVO X series: two N°4 floorstanders as the front, the matching center for dialogue, and a pair of N°1 bookshelf speakers for the rear channels.

Every model shares the same Flax cone made from French flax and the same inverted TAM tweeter – keeping the tonal color consistent across all channels and the surround sound seamless. Supplied in Gloss Black finish.

Why the Aria EVO X N°4/N°1/Center Set?

Because large rooms need a front that fills them effortlessly. The N°4 moves plenty of air with two 21 cm Flax woofers and reaches down to 31 Hz (-6 dB) in the bass – physical depth without a subwoofer. The center sits tonally exactly in between and keeps dialogue intelligible, the N°1 matches the surrounds tonally identically. Instead of three mismatched series, one family plays here.

Who is this set for – and who isn't it for?

Straight talk: the N°4 set is made for large living rooms and open-plan living spaces. It doesn't belong in a small room – there the bass would overwhelm you, and the N°2 or N°3 set is the more honest choice. The N°4 dips to 2.5 Ω in the bass: without a powerful, stable amplifier (MOON, for instance), its dynamics get left behind.

Do I need a subwoofer with this set?

Not for music – the N°4 delivers plenty of depth. For home cinema with infrasound effects, a subwoofer (e.g. the Focal SUB 1000F) puts the final exclamation mark under the lowest register.

The front: the N°4 set uses the larger N°4 with two 21 cm woofers instead of the N°3 with three 16.5 cm drivers. That brings more level, more depth, and more command in large rooms – but also needs more space.
