The Focal Aria EVO X N°2 is a 3-way bass-reflex floorstanding speaker from Focal's French Aria EVO X series. Supplied as a pair.

Two 16.5 cm Flax woofers, a dedicated 16.5 cm Flax midrange, and the inverted aluminum/magnesium TAM tweeter share the workload – a genuine three-way concept for the ordinary living room.

Why the Focal Aria EVO X N°2?

Because it's the balanced entry point into the Aria EVO X floorstanders. The Flax cones made from French flax deliver a natural, well-defined sound; the waveguide on the TAM tweeter directs the highs precisely to your seat instead of scattering them widely. The rigid MDF cabinet and the aluminum plinth give it a firm stance and a clean sound that's detached from the cabinet.

Who is the Aria EVO X N°2 for – and who isn't it for?

Straight talk: the N°2 is the sweet spot for medium-sized living rooms – big enough for a foundation, slim enough not to overwhelm. If you want to flood a large loft with deep bass, the N°3 or N°4 is the better choice. And the minimum impedance of 2.9 Ω wants an amplifier that stays stable into low loads – a cheap receiver holds it back.

How far from the wall does the N°2 need to stand?

Thanks to its forward- and downward-firing bass-reflex port, it's uncomplicated; 30 to 40 cm from the wall is usually enough to keep the bass clean and well-defined.
