The Focal Aria EVO X N°2 is a 3-way bass-reflex floorstanding speaker from Focal's French Aria EVO X series. Supplied as a pair.

Two 16.5 cm Flax woofers, a dedicated 16.5 cm Flax midrange driver and the inverted TAM tweeter in aluminium/magnesium share the workload — a genuine three-way concept for a normal living room.

Why the Focal Aria EVO X N°2?

Because it's the balanced entry point into the Aria EVO X floorstanders. The Flax cones made of French flax deliver a natural, defined sound; the waveguide on the TAM tweeter directs the highs precisely to the listening position instead of scattering them broadly. The rigid MDF cabinet and aluminium plinth give it a firm stance and a clean sound, decoupled from the cabinet.

Who's the Aria EVO X N°2 for — and who isn't it for?

Straight talk: the N°2 is the sweet spot for medium-sized living rooms — big enough for a solid foundation, slim enough not to overwhelm. If you want to flood a large loft with deep bass, go for the N°3 or N°4 instead. And the minimum impedance of 2.9 Ω wants an amplifier that stays stable under low loads — a cheap receiver will hold it back.

How far from the wall does the N°2 need to stand?

Thanks to a bass-reflex port tuned to fire forward and downward, it's uncomplicated; 30 to 40 cm of wall clearance is usually enough to keep the bass clean and defined.

Frequently asked questions

Is a normal amplifier enough?

At 91.5 dB it's efficient, but impedance drops to 2.9 Ω in the bass. A stable amplifier with reserves (such as from MOON) keeps control; very weak units sound underpowered in the bass.

Does the N°2 need a subwoofer?

For music in a normal room, no — it has enough foundation. For home cinema with real deep-bass impact, a subwoofer (e.g. Focal SUB 1000F) is a sensible addition.
