Eversolo SE100 Bookshelf Speakers, Black (Pair)

The Eversolo SE100 in black is a passive 2-way bookshelf speaker with a 25 mm silk dome tweeter and a 5.25-inch woofer with a paper-fibre cone. It is supplied as a pair and, thanks to its square shape, also fits into shelf compartments.

The SE100 comes from the Eversolo family and combines well with the Play streaming amplifiers. It is built on the BLACKEDGE CORE architecture.

Why the SE100?

Because it is compact, well built and, with an efficiency of 88 dB, easy to drive even for smaller amplifiers. The silk dome tweeter uses a Rapid Transient coil made of oxygen-free copper, and the woofer a paper-fibre cone. The MDF cabinet is internally damped against vibration. The finish is matt (PU), and the grille is held on magnetically. Amplifiers with 20 to 100 watts are recommended; the peak power handling is 180 watts.

What you hear

According to the data sheet, the frequency response runs from 55 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB) with a crossover frequency of 2.6 kHz. For a bookshelf speaker of this size, that is a reasonable figure. How it sounds in your room depends on placement and amplifier.

Who is the SE100 suited for?

For beginners and smaller rooms where two compact speakers are to play with an Eversolo Play or another stereo amplifier. Straight talk: the SE100 are passive, so you need an amplifier. For large rooms where you want high levels, 5.25 inches are not enough; in that case we look at larger models.
