The Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2 is a network streamer with two ESS converters, XLR and RCA outputs and a 6-inch touchscreen that delivers music from your network, streaming services and storage devices to your system.

It is the entry point to the DMP-A series and brings the most important connections that otherwise sit in higher price classes.

Why the DMP-A6 Gen 2?

Because it packs a lot of features into a compact unit. Two ES9038Q2M chips work with a third-generation XMOS XU316 processor, a quad-core Cortex-A55 and OPA1642. A low-noise linear power supply and dual clock keep the signal path quiet. You get XLR and RCA outputs, HDMI ARC, USB, optical and coaxial, plus WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0. PCM up to 768 kHz/32 bit, DSD512 and MQA are supported, 32 GB is built in, and the M.2 slot adds up to 4 TB.

What you hear

According to the data sheet, distortion is below 0.00009 % via XLR and below 0.00011 % via RCA. That means: the streamer hardly alters the signal. How that sounds in your system depends on your speakers and the room.

Who is the DMP-A6 Gen 2 suited for?

For anyone looking for a compact streamer with a balanced output who doesn't need the flagship. Plain speaking: a headphone output is not listed in the data sheet, and a remote control is not included. The BTR-12 and the V16 are available as accessories.
