DALI Opticon Vokal MK2 Grille, White

The DALI Opticon Vokal MK2 grille is the tool-free removable front cover for the DALI Opticon Vokal MK2 – acoustically transparent fabric on a form-fitting frame that protects the cones and tweeter without bending dialogue out of shape.

This version carries the white covering. DALI includes a light grey grille with the Satin White cabinet from the factory – the white one is the accessory variant for anyone who wants it even brighter and more uniform under the TV. On a white sideboard, that's the difference between "you notice it" and "you don't".

Why the integrated clip mount?

On the Opticon MK2, the mounts are integrated into the surrounds of the woofer/midrange and tweeter; that's where the grille's mounting pins engage. No drill holes in the 25 mm thick baffle, no visible fasteners, no tools. With a light-coloured covering, that counts double: there are no dark mounting points that could show through the thin fabric.

What you get

A single piece for exactly one center. The frame covers the complete front area of the Vokal MK2, meaning both wood fibre woofer/midrange drivers and the hybrid tweeter module in between. It holds equally reliably whether the center stands freely on the furniture or lies in a rack compartment.

Who is the grille suited to?

Plain talk: white is the colour for bright living rooms – and the most demanding to maintain. Right under a TV, a light fabric front catches dust more visibly than grey or black, and a fingerprint stays a fingerprint. If you run the center in a dark cinema room or have small children in the house, grey or black is the lower-maintenance choice. If you want to carry a bright interior through consistently, though, there's no way around white.

Our verdict

Visually the boldest of the three colours and, in a bright room, the only right one. The center stops looking like a black bar under the screen and blends into the furniture. In exchange, you accept the occasional vacuuming – a fair trade.

Frequently asked questions

Is the white grille an exact colour match to the Satin White cabinet?

Not one hundred percent. The cabinet is lacquered, the grille is covered in fabric – paint and textile reflect light differently. DALI actually pairs the white cabinet with light grey fabric from the factory. If absolute uniformity matters to you, compare both variants side by side beforehand.

How do I keep a white covering clean?

Take it off and vacuum it with a soft brush attachment or on the lowest setting, following the direction of the fabric. No water, no cleaning agents, no adhesive tape – that pulls fibres. Because the grille is only clipped on, it lies on the table in seconds, so you clean it comfortably instead of wiping around on the speaker itself.

Do I need several grilles for a whole front?

Yes, every box carries its own. This one belongs exclusively to the Vokal MK2; there are dedicated covers, available in the same colours, for the floorstanding and on-wall models in the Opticon MK2 series. That way a mixed home cinema front still looks visually unified.
