The DALI Opticon 6/1/Vokal MK2 5.0 Set is a complete home cinema speaker set from the Danish Opticon MK2 series, bringing front, centre and surround together from a single line-up.
Two Opticon 6 MK2 floorstanders sit up front, the Opticon Vokal MK2 takes the centre, and two compact Opticon 1 MK2 sit at the back – here in the Black finish. Five speakers, one signature sound, and you hear that sooner than you'd think.
Why the Opticon 6/1/Vokal MK2 set?
Because a home cinema rarely fails because of the best individual box, but because of the break between them. All five models share the same SMC magnet technology and the same wood fibre cone type; front and centre additionally carry the hybrid tweeter made of a 29 mm fabric dome and a 17 × 45 mm ribbon. Effects therefore move from left to right and from front to back without an audible seam. And because everything comes from a single source, you skip the fine-tuning otherwise needed to negotiate a compromise between three brands.
What you hear
Calm, first of all. The Opticon MK2 tuning is neutral and unfussy, rather than demanding your attention with glossy highs. The two Opticon 6 MK2, each with two 6.5-inch woofer/midranges, reach down to 49 Hz – enough foundation that music and most films sound mature even without a subwoofer. The Vokal MK2 pulls dialogue cleanly out of the action, even while a city is collapsing in the background. The Opticon 1 MK2 at the rear deliver precision rather than showing off.
Who is the set for?
Bottom line: the Opticon 6 MK2 need room to breathe. From around 18–20 m² the set opens up; in a 10 m² room the bass booms, and no amount of persuasion changes that. The honest tuning exposes weak soundtracks instead of smoothing them over – anyone chasing pure loudness impact is better served elsewhere. All five run at 4 Ω, so your amplifier or AV receiver should be stable into that load. If you bring the room and the right electronics, you get an audiophile stereo pair and a confident surround system in one go.
Our verdict
The Opticon 6/1/Vokal MK2 is the set for anyone who doesn't want to make a second compromise: mature stereo sound up front, intelligible dialogue in the centre, clean surround at the back – without a seam and without tinkering. In Black it stays visually in the background, which is rarely a drawback in a darkened cinema room.

Frequently asked questions
Is the set enough without a subwoofer?
For music and most films, yes. The two Opticon 6 MK2 reach down to 49 Hz and provide a mature foundation. If you want to feel the last rumble in your stomach during blockbusters, you can add a DALI subwoofer later – which size suits your room is something we'll work out together.
Which amplifier or AV receiver suits the set?
Load stability at 4 Ω is what matters. A solid AV receiver with enough current drives all five channels cleanly; for stereo music through the front speakers, a powerful integrated amplifier is also worthwhile. The Opticon 6 MK2 take 25 to 200 watts, the Vokal MK2 30 to 150 watts, the Opticon 1 MK2 25 to 100 watts.
Are the front covers magnetic?
No. The covers in the Opticon MK2 series sit on fixing pins that engage with the surrounds of the woofer/midrange and tweeter. DALI describes this as a deliberately simple solution without magnets in the baffle. The covers hold securely and come off just as quickly for listening.
Do I need to sit exactly in the centre?
No. The hybrid tweeter made of dome and ribbon disperses widely, so the sound stays stable even outside the sweet spot. That's especially handy when several people are sitting on the sofa at once and not everyone can have the best seat.
How much distance from the wall do the floorstanders need?
The Opticon 6 MK2 have their bass reflex port on the back and want air behind them; around 20 to 40 cm is a good starting point. The closer to the wall, the punchier the upper bass. We're happy to help you fine-tune the placement in your room.

You'll find matching electronics under All Amplifiers, more components for the cinema under Home Cinema and Home Cinema Speakers. If deep bass calls later after all: Subwoofers. The whole brand is in the DALI overview, and the speaker cable you'll need is right next to it.
