The DALI Epikore 9 is a 4-way floorstanding speaker from Denmark that brings the driver generation of the flagship DALI KORE into the living room – in this finish under a deep, wine-red high-gloss lacquer.

Maroon is the colour you choose deliberately. Depending on the light, the lacquer looks almost black or opens up into a rich Bordeaux; underneath lies real veneer on a curved cabinet. Technically the speaker is identical to the other finishes: EVO-K hybrid tweeter module, a separate 6.5-inch midrange driver and two 8-inch woofers with SMC Gen 2 magnet system.

Why the Epikore 9?

Because the division of labour is right. Four ways mean every driver handles exactly the range it was built for – the crossovers sit at 400, 3,100 and 12,500 Hz. The midrange stays spared from bass excursion, the hybrid module takes over up top, and the two 20 cm woofers deliver foundation down to 29 Hz.

Who is the Epikore 9 suitable for?

Honestly, not for every living room. Two 20 cm woofers per side need volume and distance; in small, reflective rooms you'll be working against the speaker rather than with it. The amplifier can't be a lightweight either. But if you bring space, power and a little patience for placement, what you'll mostly hear afterwards is one thing: music, not speakers.

How does the Gloss Maroon finish look in a living space?

Maroon is a deep wine red under piano lacquer – almost black in low light, distinctly red in sunlight. Underneath lies real wood veneer on a curved cabinet. What sets the Epikore 9 apart from the Epikore 7?

The Epikore 9 is a genuine 4-way system with a separate 6.5-inch midrange driver and two 8-inch woofers; it reaches down to 29 Hz and runs at 4 Ω. The Epikore 7 is the more compact 3.5-way version with two 7-inch drivers, 6 Ω and a lower limit of 35 Hz – the better choice for medium-sized rooms.

Do I have to connect the Epikore 9 with bi-wiring?

No, you don't have to. The terminal has two pairs, and the links are included – with them you run the speaker completely normally with a single cable. Bi-wiring or bi-amping are options for later, not a requirement to get started. More important than the wiring style is an amplifier that stays stable at 4 Ω.
