The DALI Connect E-601 is a pair of speaker stands from Denmark – with an extruded aluminium column, silk-matte lacquered glass base plate and full internal cable routing, built for bookshelf and compact speakers.
The E-601 brings your bookshelf speakers up to the right height and decouples them from the floor. The glass plate at the base provides a wide, stable footprint, the aluminium column takes the cable completely out of sight, and the lacquered metal top plate carries the speaker. That way the speaker sits calmly, instead of vibrating along with a resonant sideboard.
Why the Connect E-601?
Because even the best bookshelf speaker doesn't achieve much sitting on a vibrating piece of furniture. A solid, decoupled stand settles the cabinet, sharpens the imaging and brings the tweeter up to ear height – the point where the soundstage and sense of space fall into place. The 30-millimetre cable ports in the base plate and column keep everything looking tidy; even a mains cable for active speakers still fits through.
What you get
A pair of stands in black – high-gloss column, silk-matte glass – including adjustable spikes for carpet, rubber feet for hard floors, and adhesive and anti-slip pads for the top plate. The mounting plate measures 148 × 198 millimetres. The E-601 is designed for DALI bookshelf speakers – Spektor, Oberon, Menuet, Opticon or Rubicon – and for other compact speakers that sit securely on this surface. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil we'll work out with you whether your speaker is a good match and how high it should ultimately stand.
Who is the Connect E-601 suitable for?
Let's be clear: the E-601 is designed for compact and bookshelf speakers. The speaker isn't bolted on but placed on adhesive and anti-slip pads, and the column is designed for cable routing – DALI doesn't intend it to be filled with sand or granulate. For full-size, heavy studio monitors you're better off with a more substantial stand. And the spikes belong on carpet: on bare parquet they'll dig in mercilessly, so use the supplied rubber feet there instead.
Our verdict
A cleanly made stand with no fuss: glass at the bottom, aluminium in the middle, cable out of sight. At 3.2 kilos each it's no heavyweight – but it looks considerably better in a living room than most steel-tube alternatives and does exactly what it should with compact speakers. If you value mass above all else, go for the heavier specialist; if you want a good-looking, calm setup, you're in the right place.

Frequently asked questions
Which speakers does the Connect E-601 fit?
Bookshelf and compact speakers. The mounting plate measures 148 × 198 millimetres, and the speaker should sit securely on it. DALI models such as Spektor, Oberon, Menuet, Opticon or Rubicon are the typical candidates. It isn't bolted on – the speaker sits on the supplied adhesive pads. It isn't designed for very large, heavy monitors.
Spikes or rubber feet – which do I use?
On carpet, use the spikes: they pierce the pile and grip the floor. On parquet or strip flooring, use the supplied rubber feet so nothing gets scratched. Both are included, and both can be finely adjusted for levelling – important so the stand doesn't wobble in the end.
Does the speaker cable really disappear into the stand?
Yes. The base plate and column have 30-millimetre ports, and the cable runs from the top plate down to the floor on the inside. Even a mains cable for active speakers fits. That keeps things looking clean and keeps the cable out of reach of the vacuum cleaner and the cat.
How high does the speaker sit on the E-601?
The stand measures 602 millimetres with spikes, 587 without. Together with a typical compact speaker, that puts the tweeter roughly at ear height when you're sitting on a normal sofa. If you sit lower or higher, that shifts – we're happy to work it out with you.
Do I get one or two stands with the E-601?
Two. The Connect E-601 is sold as a pair, and one box contains both stands plus mounting hardware – that's also how DALI's mounting instructions describe it. Included are eight spikes, eight rubber feet, and adhesive and anti-slip pads – enough for both sides. So you only need one order for both sides.
