The Clearaudio Power Terminal is a filtering power strip with seven individually star-grounded sockets – here in silver.
Clean power supply starts at the wall socket. And that's exactly where it tends to get neglected: ordinary power strips pass electromagnetic and high-frequency interference straight through to your system, unfiltered. The Power Terminal doesn't just distribute power, it filters it too – and brings order to the whole chain at the same time.
Why the Power Terminal?
Seven sockets, but not randomly assigned: one at 100 W for turntable motors, two at 800 W each for power amps, two at 200 W for analogue devices and two at 200 W for digital devices. Every socket is individually star-grounded. On top of that come a DC blocker, phase control, and surge and lightning protection – plus a shielded mains cable to the wall outlet. In short: every device gets the environment that suits it, instead of just 230 volts and a lot of hope.
What you get
An all-in-one solution for the whole chain: motor, power amps, analogue and digital sources hang cleanly separated from a single point, capped by a total load of 2500 watts. The lightning protection also means you'll sleep a bit more soundly during the next summer thunderstorm. The strip can be mounted vertically or horizontally – on the wall or directly on the rack.
Who is the Power Terminal for?
For anyone who wants to supply a complete system cleanly, filtered and protected, instead of spreading their devices across three hardware-store power strips. Bottom line: if you're only running an integrated amp and a streamer, you don't strictly need these seven specialised sockets – a smaller solution will do. But if you want to bring motor, power amps and sources together under one roof, this is the more thought-through answer.
Our verdict
A consistently engineered power strip that actually filters instead of just distributing, grounds cleanly, and protects your system at the same time. Which devices belong on which socket, and whether the effort is worth it for your chain, we're happy to work out together at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil – honestly, even when the answer is "not yet".

Frequently asked questions
Does the Power Terminal really filter, or does it just distribute?
It filters. Clearaudio built in a DC blocker, phase control and surge and lightning protection, and includes a shielded mains cable. Together with the star-shaped individual grounding of every socket, this reduces electromagnetic and high-frequency interference – so it's not just a distribution strip in a fancy shell.
How many devices can I connect?
Seven, and deliberately assigned: one 100 W socket for the turntable motor, two at 800 W each for power amps, two at 200 W for analogue and two at 200 W for digital devices. The total load is 2500 watts. That lets you split up a complete system sensibly instead of just plugging in randomly.
What do the DC blocker and lightning protection do?
The DC blocker keeps DC components in the mains away from your transformers, which often noticeably reduces mechanical hum in the transformer. Surge and lightning protection shield your system against voltage spikes – a sensible insurance policy, especially during thunderstorms.
Can I mount the Power Terminal on the wall?
Yes. The strip can be fixed vertically or horizontally – on the wall or directly on your rack or stand. At 454 millimetres long and around 3.1 kilograms, it needs solid fixing, but in return the cable clutter finally disappears.
