The Clearaudio microfibre cover set is the replacement wear part for the Double Matrix Professional Sonic record cleaning machine: six self-adhesive microfibre strips for scratch-free suction on both sides of your records.

Important up front: this set belongs to the Double Matrix Professional Sonic, the machine that treats both record sides at once. The single-sided Smart Matrix Silent is a different machine and needs its own set — mixing them up isn't worth the trouble.

Why fresh covers?

Because the Double Matrix cleans both sides simultaneously, it has double the contact area — and so double the wear. Only fresh strips seal the vacuum properly on both suction arms and draw fluid, along with dirt, completely out of the groove. At the same time, the soft microfibre protects both the top and bottom surfaces from fine contact scratches.

What you get

Six precisely cut strips — four wide and two narrow — with a self-adhesive, chemical-resistant backing. This gives both suction arms a complete fresh cover, with no cutting and no improvising. Especially with heavy 180-gram pressings under higher contact pressure, you'll notice the difference between fresh and "it'll do" the fastest.

Peel off the old covers slowly, dissolve any adhesive residue with a little cleaning alcohol, wipe the suction tubes dry and grease-free, then stick on the new strips and press firmly. Make sure to place the wide and narrow strips in the correct positions — they aren't interchangeable at will.
