The Canton Vento 101 is the large 3-way floorstanding speaker of the Vento series 2026 – the flagship of the seventh Vento generation.
In gloss black, the curved cabinet looks more like a piece of furniture than a box: two 192 mm woofers, a dedicated 174 mm midrange driver, and the new BC tweeter with Transmission Front Plate, hand-built in Weilrod in the Taunus region. Technology that Canton has so far reserved for the Reference series comes standard here. Supplied as a pair.
Why the Canton Vento 101?
Because nothing has been cut back anywhere it would be audible. The two Aluminium-Titanium-Black bass drivers dig down to 20 Hz without necessarily needing a subwoofer alongside. The dedicated midrange driver separates voices from the bass action, and the square waveguide in front of the ceramic dome keeps dispersion under control up to 40,000 Hz. Honestly: not every box labelled "floorstanding speaker" plays with this level of composure.
What you hear
Above all, calm. Large diaphragm areas don't need to fight for level, so the sound stays relaxed even when the whole orchestra kicks in at once. Bass lines stay defined instead of mushy, voices stand palpably between the speakers, cymbals don't hiss but decay naturally. With 87.4 dB efficiency and 4 to 8 ohm impedance, the 101 is no special case for the electronics either – a strong, cleanly built amplifier is enough.
Who is the Canton Vento 101 for?
Plainly put: the Vento 101 belongs in medium to large rooms from around 20 m² upward, with some room to the rear wall so the downfire bass can work cleanly. Squeezed into a twelve-square-metre room, it plays well below its potential – about as sensible as a sports car in a parking garage. If you have less space, you'll do better sonically with the Vento 91 or 81. If you have the space, you get a flagship that leaves almost no room to improve further.
Our verdict
The Vento 101 brings Reference genes into a series that doesn't have to change leagues for it – cleanly built, honestly voiced, hand-built in Weilrod. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, we advise you on which amplifier really has the two bass drivers under control and where the 101 stands most confidently in your room.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Canton Vento 101 supplied as a pair?
Yes, you get two floorstanding speakers – a complete stereo pair of the Vento 101. Each speaker comes with a magnetically attached fabric cover and the instruction manual. After unpacking, all that's left is placement, toeing in toward the listening position, and wiring to your amplifier.
How big should the room be for the Vento 101?
It feels comfortable from about 20 m² upward. With two 192 mm woofers and depth down to 20 Hz, it has reserves that simply go unused in a small room and tend to boom rather than provide a foundation there. For smaller rooms, the Vento 91 or 81 are the more balanced choice.
Does the Vento 101 need a subwoofer?
Usually not for pure stereo – the two woofers already reach down to 20 Hz and deliver a tangible foundation. For home cinema, a separate subwoofer can still make sense for that final punch on film effects. We'll clarify in a consultation whether it's worthwhile in your room.
Which amplifier suits the Canton Vento 101?
An integrated amplifier or power amp with stable power reserves that doesn't break a sweat at 4 ohms. On paper, little power is needed thanks to 87.4 dB efficiency – but control over the two large woofers only comes from an amplifier with proper current delivery. Bi-amping is possible via the terminal.

Goes well with
A powerful amplifier, a subwoofer for the home cinema foundation, proper speaker cable – and if stereo is to become more, further home cinema speakers.
