The Canton InCeiling P6 is a passive ceiling speaker from the premium P Series with a 165 mm chassis and an angle-adjustable tweeter.
It's the middle size in the range – and just right for most living rooms. 231 mm outer diameter, 85 mm build depth, a paintable magnetic front grille: after the paint roller, your eye barely notices it. Your ear still will.
Why the InCeiling P6?
Because the 6.5-inch driver is the point where a ceiling speaker stops merely providing background sound. The woofer, made from an aluminium-titanium composite, works stiff and light, and the 25 mm tweeter can be angled towards the listening zone – handy when the ceiling cutout ends up closer to the wall than the seating layout allows for. With 85 mm of installation depth, the P6 also fits suspended ceilings too shallow for a larger model, and the 4-pin connector turns wiring several speakers into routine work rather than fiddly effort.
What you hear
A balanced, cleanly resolved sound with easily enough level for a living room, kitchen or office: 87.5 dB sensitivity, 60 watts nominal and 120 watts music power handling, frequency range from 45 Hz. Voices stay solid, instruments stay distinguishable – even though the source is hanging above you rather than sitting in front of you.
Who is the InCeiling P6 suited for?
For normal-sized living spaces, for multiroom zones, and anywhere a visible box simply isn't wanted. Honestly: in very large or open areas, the 165 mm driver eventually runs short of cone area – there the P8 is the more capable choice. And it doesn't belong in the bathroom or under a terrace roof; that's what the P6 Outdoor is for.
Our verdict
The sensible middle ground of the P Series: enough chassis for real sound, little enough build depth for most ceilings. If you want to sound a whole flat consistently without speakers standing around everywhere, the P6 as your standard model is the best route. How many pairs your floor plan needs is something we calculate in advance at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil.

Frequently asked questions
How big does the ceiling cutout need to be for the InCeiling P6?
206 mm in diameter, with 85 mm of installation depth needed. The speaker's rim covers up to 231 mm, so it forgives small inaccuracies. More important is looking into the ceiling cavity: joists, rafters, cables and ventilation ducts determine the position more than the floor plan does.
Does the P6 need a back enclosure or damping material?
Not mandatory – the ceiling cavity takes on the role of the volume. A back chamber is worthwhile if the cavity is very small, if sound shouldn't pass through to the room above, or where fire-safety requirements apply. During on-site installations, Mauri, our technician, clarifies this directly at the ceiling.
Does the P6 also fit in the bathroom?
It isn't approved for that. The P6 is an indoor model for dry environments. For bathrooms, showers, wellness areas, conservatories or covered terraces, there's the InCeiling P6 Outdoor with a ceramic chassis and stainless-steel grille. Note: its cutout is 2 mm smaller at 204 mm, while installation depth stays the same.
Why buy the Canton InCeiling P6 from HD Zürisee?
Because we think of ceiling sound as a system: model choice, quantity, position, amplifier and cabling belong together. Our experienced team in Wädenswil will also tell you when two fewer speakers gives the better result. Write or call us, and we'll go through your floor plan.
