The Canton GLE 90 AR S2 is a 3-way floorstanding speaker with an integrated Dolby Atmos module that combines stereo sound and genuine height channels in a single cabinet.

Below works the proven GLE 90 S2: two 192 mm ATB woofers, a dedicated 174 mm ATB midrange driver and the 25 mm AB tweeter with waveguide. On top sits a separately routed 2-way upfiring module with a 154 mm driver and its own 25 mm tweeter, which bounces the Atmos height channel off the ceiling into the room. Supplied as a pair – home cinema from above, with no ceiling speakers at all.

Why the Canton GLE 90 AR S2?

If you listen purely to stereo and don't care for 3D sound, the regular GLE 90 S2 is the more affordable option – the Atmos module would then simply stay silent. And if you already have ceiling speakers installed, you don't need the upfiring section. For everyone else: it's hard to get sound from above into the living room more conveniently than this.

Do I need additional ceiling speakers for Dolby Atmos?

No. The integrated upfiring module fires the height channel upward, from where the ceiling reflects it back down to the listening position. This creates genuine 3D sound from above without you having to install speakers in the ceiling or run cables – provided your ceiling is reasonably flat and acoustically reflective.

Is the Canton GLE 90 AR S2 supplied as a pair?

Yes, the listed price is for two floorstanding speakers, i.e. a complete pair, each with its own Atmos module. You receive both columns including magnetic fabric covers and instructions, which already covers both front height channels.

How do I connect the Atmos module?

Via its own connection terminal, separate from the main speaker. You connect it to the height-channel outputs of a Dolby Atmos-capable AV amplifier. This is especially simple with the Canton Smart Amp 5.1; we're happy to work out together which amplifier suits your setup.

What's the difference from the regular GLE 90 S2?
