The Cabasse The Pearl Akoya Speaker Stand in White is a 70-centimetre-tall single stand that places the spherical Akoya freely in the room at listening height.

Finished in Pearl White, it recedes visually in bright rooms while the sphere on top keeps the stage. That doesn't make it lightweight construction, though: two hollow aluminium columns on a solid steel base, 6.4 kilograms together. And because Cabasse offers the Akoya piece by piece, the same goes for the stand – one box, one stand.

Why this stand?

A spherical speaker reacts sensitively to what it stands on. If the Akoya sits on a shelf, every bass movement travels into the furniture front, and the sound becomes thicker than it should be. This stand's steel base absorbs that energy instead of passing it on.

Then there's the height: 70 centimetres puts the sphere roughly at ear height while seated – exactly where the Akoya's coaxial driver plays to its strengths. Both stand tubes are hollow, and power, network or RCA cables run down inside. On a speaker that lives off its clean shape, that's more than cosmetics. A matching power cable is included, along with screws, an Allen key and a pair of tweezers for threading the cables.

What you get

  • Floor stand matched exactly to the Cabasse The Pearl Akoya
  • Finish in Pearl White, unobtrusive in bright living rooms
  • Round aluminium columns, solid steel base with a 25 cm diameter
  • Concealed cable routing through both columns, power cable included
  • Interchangeable spikes and rubber feet depending on floor covering

Who is the Akoya stand in White for?

For anyone taking a white or light-coloured Akoya to its logical conclusion, rather than balancing it on a dark base. Equally for rooms without suitable furniture at the right height.

Honestly: in a room where the speaker is going on the wall anyway, the wall mount is the clearer answer. And if you listen with two Akoya, plan for two stands – this comes as one per order.

Our verdict

The stand does exactly what good accessories should: it doesn't draw attention, yet handles three things at once – height, calm, cables gone. In white it practically disappears in bright rooms, which makes it the obvious choice for the white Akoya. Honestly, the speaker has earned this stage.

Frequently asked questions

How high does the Akoya sit on this stand?

The cradle sits at 70 centimetres, plus the sphere itself. Seated, that puts the driver centre roughly at ear height – the height Cabasse tuned the Akoya for. You typically won't reach that on a low sideboard.

What speakers is this stand made for?

Exclusively for the Cabasse The Pearl Akoya at 8 kilograms. Both the cradle and the cable routing are tailored to its spherical shape and connections. For the larger The Pearl model, Cabasse offers its own, sturdier stand. Other spherical speakers can't be mounted on it securely.

Do I get one stand or two?

One. Cabasse supplies the Akoya stand as a single unit, not as a pair – unlike many classic bookshelf-speaker stands. If you run two Akoya in stereo, you order two stands. Just tell us how many speakers you're setting up, and we'll work it out with you.

Does the stand stand securely on parquet?

Yes. Both spikes and rubber feet are included; you choose according to your floor covering. On parquet and tile, use the rubber feet; on carpet, the spikes. At 6.4 kilograms of dead weight, the base stands calmly regardless.
