Bassocontinuo Lyra XL4 2.1 4 Legs Audio Rack

The Bassocontinuo Lyra XL4 2.1 4 Legs is a four-legged HiFi rack that widens the narrower three-legged Lyra 2.1 to safely carry bulkier electronics too.

The Classic Line is Bassocontinuo's affordable "entry into luxury" for their own rack philosophy – not a compromise, but a smaller, more affordable version of the same construction concept as the pricier Bassocontinuo series. The corner posts are made of solid steel, every shelf and the base itself sit on double decoupling with red PU elastomer discs (90 Shore), and the system is fully modular: shelves can be added later or repositioned in height. Five years' manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects is included. The XL4 adopts this modular principle but offers noticeably more surface area per tier at 660 × 560 mm than the regular Lyra 2.1 – handy when power amps or power supplies exceed standard width.

Who is the Lyra XL4 2.1 4 Legs suited for?

The Lyra XL4 suits systems with several, sometimes large-format components – such as pre-/power amp combinations or wide network players – that no longer find a clean footing on the narrower 3-leg Lyra. Anyone who only wants to house a turntable and an integrated amplifier is better served, and saves money, with a more compact model from the Classic Line.

Our verdict

Solidly built, cleanly decoupled and, thanks to the extra width, more practical for everyday use than the standard version: anyone who needs space for more than two components gets a modular rack that grows with them, without carrying the price tag of the SF Edition right away.
