The AVM Tone Control is a retrofit module for the modular AVM Ovation PA preamp that combines a line input with switchable tone controls for bass, treble, loudness and balance.
Until recently the Ovation PA 8.3 was sold as a pure preamp base unit, and has since been replaced in our shop by the new streaming version, the PAS 8.3S – but for existing owners of a PA 8.3 (or PA 8.2), this module remains a useful add-on. If you sometimes listen quietly late at night or live with room-acoustic compromises, a good, switchable tone control isn't a compromise but a tool – nobody has to use it all the time, but it's there when it counts. The input works like a normal Line-IN module with XLR and RCA connections, and the tone control can be switched on and off per source.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the tone control degrade the sound when it's not needed?
The tone control can be deactivated per input; in bypass, the signal runs just as it would through a normal Line-IN module. So you gain an option without losing anything in everyday use.
Does the module also fit the new PAS 8.3S?
With such a recent model change, that isn't automatically certain, and we don't yet have reliable manufacturer information on it. Call us or write to us with your exact model, and we'll check compatibility before you buy.
Why buy it from HD Zürisee?
We've been supporting AVM customers through model changes since 1997 and know exactly which combination of base unit and module actually fits together. Mauri handles installation and setup if you'd like.
