The AVM Ovation MA 8.3S Cellini is a pair of mono power amplifiers with a chrome front, a tube input stage and more than 600 watts into 8 ohms per monoblock.
Cellini is AVM's answer to the question of whether high-end may also sparkle: the front is chrome-plated, the inner workings the same as in black and silver. Technology that does not need to hide, in a chassis that does not hide either.
Why the MA 8.3S Cellini?
Because it is the top of the Ovation S power amplifiers in the most prestigious finish. At the input works an anode-follower tube stage with a dual differential input stage, and the entire signal path is DC-coupled and cleaned up by automatic offset compensation. The output stage uses 48 high-power MOSFETs, fed by two 1000 VA toroidal transformers and 544,000 µF of filter capacitance. AVM builds the whole thing by hand in Malsch.
What you get
Over 600 watts into 8 ohms, over 1100 watts into 4 ohms and over 1800 watts into 2 ohms per block, plus a damping factor above 400. Connection is via XLR or RCA, switching via trigger (5–20 V DC) or AIR Trigger with an AVM preamplifier. A dimmable OLED display shows the status, and delivery is in a flight case. Volume control and source selection are not built in – without a preamplifier it stays silent.
Who is the MA 8.3S Cellini for – and who is it not for?
For customers who want the largest Ovation S power amplifier and deliberately use the chrome front as a design element in the room. Plainly put: chrome fronts show every fingerprint, and 42 kilograms per block need a secure place to stand. If you prefer something more discreet, take the same device in black or silver – technically it is the same machine.
Our verdict
The MA 8.3S Cellini is the showpiece among the AVM monoblocks: the same technology, but with the presence that deserves to be seen in a large system. Which preamplifier and which speakers suit it is something we are glad to discuss with you at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil – call us, write to us or use WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions
What does Cellini mean for the MA 8.3S?
At AVM, Cellini denotes the finish with a chrome front. The technology matches the versions in black and silver: the same tube stage, the same power. The extra cost pays off purely in appearance.
Is the MA 8.3S Cellini available singly?
Not from us: a mono power amplifier amplifies only one channel, which is why we sell it as a pair. The price on this page covers both monoblocks together, which together weigh 84 kilograms.
What connections does the MA 8.3S have?
Per monoblock one XLR and one RCA input, plus speaker terminals, a trigger input with 5 to 20 volts DC and the mains connection. Input sensitivity is 2.1 volts for 1000 watts into 4 ohms.
Does the MA 8.3S Cellini need a special setup?
Yes, it needs space and load-bearing capacity: 432 × 253 × 420 mm and 42 kilograms per block. Plus separate circuits, because each block may draw up to 3500 watts. We are happy to discuss this in advance, ideally with a photo of your room.
Why buy the AVM Ovation MA 8.3S Cellini at HD Zürisee?
Because we have been putting together systems for decades in which power amplifiers of this class really arrive – with the right preamplifier, the right place and clean cabling. As an authorised AVM dealer in Wädenswil we accompany purchase, delivery and warranty, technician Mauri included.
