The AudioQuest HDMI Adapter is a gold-plated connector piece that either extends an existing HDMI connection or redirects it by 90 degrees. Five versions cover the usual tight spots behind TV, rack and projector – exactly where a stiff connector is missing that one centimeter.
Why an angle adapter?
Modern TVs are screwed flat against the wall, and the HDMI socket often faces backward instead of sideways. A straight connector then presses against the wall, the cable kinks right at the connector outlet, and after a few months the picture starts flickering – typically right in the middle of a movie. A 90-degree adapter turns the plug direction away from the wall, relieves strain on the socket and cable jacket, and turns a constant annoyance into a non-issue.
What you get
You choose the version that suits your installation position. The A–A coupler connects two cables socket to socket. 90°/W redirects over the wide side of the connector, 90°/N over the narrow side. The flat versions 90° NU/R and 90° NU/L are especially low-profile and bend to the right or left respectively. All contacts are gold-plated, the housing is rigid – nothing gives, nothing twists under cable tension.
Who is the HDMI Adapter for – and who isn't it for?
Right for you if your cable is good and only the plug direction is wrong. Straight talk: an adapter doesn't fix a cable that's too short or too weak. If the picture sparkles or drops out at 4K/120, that's down to bandwidth, not the angle – then you need a different cable, not a connector piece. And every extra connection point remains a connection point; for very long runs, we'd rather solve that at the cable itself.
Our verdict
A small part with a disproportionately large effect: it saves sockets, cables and nerves, usually in that order. Send us a photo of the back of your device, and we'll tell you which of the five versions fits – HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, 044 680 22 00, WhatsApp 076 534 22 00 (text only, no calls) or shop@hdzuerisee.ch.

Frequently asked questions
Which adapter variant do I need?
That depends on which way the cable needs to move out of the way. The W variant bends over the wide side of the connector, the N variant over the narrow side, and NU/R and NU/L are especially flat and shift to the right or left. Send us a photo of the back of your device, that clarifies it in a minute.
Does an adapter cost picture quality?
With a short, well-made adapter with gold-plated contacts, practically not. More important than the extra connection point is a firm fit: an adapter that relieves strain on the socket prevents more picture errors than it theoretically causes.
Does the adapter work with 4K/120 and 8K?
The adapters are made to the HDMI High Speed specification. At very high data rates, the entire chain of cable, adapter and sockets always decides. If your run needs to transmit 8K or 4K/120, talk to us briefly beforehand instead of troubleshooting afterward.
Can I connect two cables with the A–A coupler?
Yes, the coupler joins two HDMI cables socket to socket. For short extensions, that's a clean solution. For greater distances, a continuous cable is the better choice, because every connection point remains a potential weak spot.
Why order the AudioQuest HDMI Adapter from HD Zürisee?
Because from many installations, we know which angle actually fits which rack – and we tell you beforehand instead of leaving you to experiment. Our technician Mauri in Wädenswil also solves the cases where it really gets tight behind the TV.
