The Argon Audio Forus 5 Wall is a passive 2-way wall speaker with a 5-inch mid-woofer, a 0.75-inch soft dome and a bass reflex enclosure, mounted directly on the wall via an integrated keyhole hanger. In Walnut, the technical piece becomes a piece of furniture: warm wood look, 13 centimetres of cabinet depth, no floor space needed.
Why the Forus 5 Wall?
Wall speakers usually fail on volume – flat means little cabinet, little cabinet means little bass. That's why the Forus 5 Wall goes for area instead: 29.7 centimetres wide, 42 centimetres tall, yet only 13 centimetres deep. The result is a 50 Hz lower cutoff frequency – five hertz deeper than the freestanding Forus 5. The 5-inch cone hands over to the 0.75-inch soft dome with neodymium magnet at 2,700 Hz.
What you get
A pair of speakers in Walnut, magnetically attached front grilles, gold-plated terminals. The hanger sits inside the cabinet itself: a keyhole slot on the back, one screw per speaker, hang it vertically or horizontally. No bracket, no arm, nothing sticking out. The stereo amplifier or AV receiver you already have is drive enough.
Who is the Forus 5 Wall suited for – and who isn't it for?
Honestly: this is a large speaker that happens to be flat. 42 centimetres of height needs to be found room for on the wall first – if you want a discreet solution next to the TV, measure beforehand or reach for the smaller Forus 4 Wall. It also needs an amplifier in front of it. But if you want stereo or surround on the wall without giving up on low end, this is exactly that – in a finish that doesn't shout “technology”.
Our verdict
Walnut and wall mounting is a smart combination: the speaker stands out, but pleasantly. Sonically, the gap to the smaller Forus 4 Wall is proven, not just claimed – 5 instead of 4 inches of cone, 50 instead of 60 Hz, a 2,700 instead of 3,000 Hz crossover. Stereo pair or surround channels, what mounting height and which amplifier: write or call us, we'll go through it with you. Frequently asked questions
How big is the Forus 5 Wall really?
29.7 cm wide, 42 cm tall and only 13 cm deep. So it doesn't stick out into the room, but it's clearly visible on the wall. If you're working with tight margins, tape a sheet of paper of that size to the wall beforehand – it saves arguments after mounting.
Do I need an amplifier for the Forus 5 Wall?
Yes, it's passive. Any stereo amplifier or AV receiver with normal speaker terminals works. With 4 ohms and 85 dB sensitivity, a bit of power in reserve is welcome, but you don't need a powerhouse. We're happy to help you work out which unit fits.
How does the Forus 5 Wall differ from the Forus 4 Wall?
The Forus 5 Wall has a 5-inch mid-woofer instead of 4 inches, reaches deeper at 50 Hz versus 60 Hz, and crosses over at 2,700 instead of 3,000 Hz. At 29.7 × 42 cm, it's also noticeably larger than the Forus 4 Wall's 21 × 29 cm.
Does the Walnut finish match my other Forus speakers?
Yes, Argon Audio offers the Forus 5, Forus 5 Wall and the Forus Center in the same Walnut finish. So a mixed set of bookshelf, wall and centre speakers stays visually consistent. With wood-look finishes, batches can vary minimally – if that matters, order them together.
Why buy the Forus 5 Wall from HD Zürisee?
Because wall mounting is half the job, and nobody wants to do it twice. We go through height, orientation, cable routing and amplifier with you before the first screw goes in – with years of experience, our own technician and no sales pressure.
Goes well with
To round out the wall set: an amplifier or AV receiver, a centre speaker from the same family, cable for a clean run – or the matching bookshelf speakers from the Argon Audio world.
