The Argon Audio Forus 4 Wall is a passive 2-way wall speaker with just 10.3 cm cabinet depth and an integrated keyhole mount for vertical and horizontal installation.

In Black, it's the born home cinema speaker. Next to a dark TV or on a media wall, it disappears into the background instead of crowding the front as yet another box.

Why the Forus 4 Wall?

Because a bookshelf speaker on the wall always stays a compromise, and an in-wall speaker means a construction project. The Forus 4 Wall solves the in-between: a 4-inch paper cone and a 0.75-inch soft dome with neodymium magnet, crossover at 3000 Hz, all in an MDF cabinet that projects just over ten centimetres into the room. Hang it, connect it, done – no wall cutout, no dust.

What you get

Gold-plated single-wire terminals, a magnetic front grille and a mount that's already built into the cabinet. That means the Forus 4 Wall runs on any amplifier or AV receiver with a standard speaker connection. As a front, effect, or rear pair, it can be expanded with the Forus Center and a subwoofer into a slim home cinema set that stays right where it belongs – on the wall.

Who is the Forus 4 Wall suited for – and who isn't it for?

Straight talk: if you expect maximum depth from a single cabinet, this isn't for you – flat wall speakers have their physical limits, that's what subwoofers are for. It isn't active either, so an amplifier belongs in front of it. But if you want a tidy TV wall without stands and cable clutter, don't want to cut into the wall of a rental flat, or are retrofitting a home cinema, this is the most pragmatic solution in the Forus family.

Is the Forus 4 Wall active or passive?

Passive. The Forus 4 Wall needs an amplifier or AV receiver to drive it – it has no amplifier or streaming module of its own. In return, it runs on any standard speaker terminal and can be freely combined with existing home cinema electronics.

How is the Forus 4 Wall mounted?

Via an integrated keyhole mount on the back, which allows vertical and horizontal installation. You don't need an additional bracket; essentially a suitable screw per speaker is enough. With drywall, be sure to use suitable wall anchors – three kilograms hangs permanently on the wall.

Does the Forus 4 Wall work as a surround speaker?

Yes, that's what it's made for. At just over ten centimetres deep, it barely protrudes at the side or behind the sofa and matches sonically with the other Forus models, such as the Forus Center. That keeps effect panning in the home cinema consistent instead of mismatched.

Do I need a subwoofer with the Forus 4 Wall?

Not essential for music, but highly recommended for home cinema. A 4-inch driver in a flat cabinet can't outsmart physics: below about 60 Hz it gets thin. A compact subwoofer fills in exactly that range and takes additional load off the wall speakers.
