bFly-Audio CUBE – Cable Absorber Made from Amasaque Wood
bFly-Audio CUBE – Cable Absorber Made from Amasaque Wood
Couldn't load pickup availability
The bFly-Audio CUBE is a cable absorber made from the African wood Amasaque that decouples speaker and power cables from vibration.
Cables are often considered the most underestimated link in the chain – yet they too pick up vibration via the microphony effect. The CUBE addresses exactly that, with a material rarely seen in cable decoupling.
Why the CUBE?
Amasaque has a high air content and an even grain, which makes it an outstanding material for optimal decoupling. Set into the underside are two-layer absorbers of Sorbothane and a particularly airy rubber variant, plus a cork-rubber insert in the triangular groove where the cable rests.
What you hear
A calmer, more clearly drawn soundstage with less microphony-related blur, especially audible with high-quality speaker and mains cables that run exposed across the floor.
Who is the CUBE for (and who isn't it for)?
Ideal for anyone who's already invested in good cables and wants to extract the last bit of calm from their cabling. Bottom line: on very short, taut cable runs with no floor contact, the effect is smaller – the CUBE pays off most on longer, exposed cable runs.
Our verdict
The CUBE shows that decoupling doesn't have to stop at the equipment. Unspectacular in use, but a simple last building block for anyone who's already built out their cable runs consistently. How many pieces make sense for your cabling is something we're happy to work out with you at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil.

Frequently asked questions
How many CUBE absorbers do I need?
That depends on the number and length of your cable runs – as a rule of thumb, one CUBE per 30 to 50 cm of exposed cable is usually enough. For a stereo setup with speaker and mains cables, the set of 6 or set of 8 is usually the more practical choice.
Which cables is the CUBE suitable for?
For speaker and power cables up to 30 mm in diameter that rest on the floor. For very thick mains cables, you should measure the diameter beforehand.
Why Amasaque wood instead of plastic?
Thanks to its high air content and even grain, Amasaque naturally brings good damping properties, which bFly-audio further reinforces with the additional absorber inserts. That's why the CUBE is deliberately not made from plastic like some cheaper alternatives.
