The WiiM Amp Pro is a streaming integrated amplifier that combines the power of the WiiM Amp with a significantly higher-quality converter and modern wireless technology. Same size, same power output - but a noticeably quieter, cleaner background.
Why the WiiM Amp Pro?
Because the leap happens exactly where you hear it: the ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M replaces the simpler converter of the base model and brings 120 dB signal-to-noise ratio - a figure you don't usually find in this price class. Add to that Wi-Fi 6E with two antennas and Bluetooth 5.3 including LE Audio, which actually makes a difference in flats with a crowded Wi-Fi spectrum.
The rest is reassuringly practical: HDMI ARC for the TV, an optical input, line-in for analog sources, USB for your own music collection, and a subwoofer output with adjustable crossover frequency. Controlled via the rotary knob, the remote, or the WiiM Home app.
What you hear
2 × 60 W at 8 ohms, 2 × 120 W at 4 ohms - identical on paper to the WiiM Amp. The difference is in the detail: a lower noise floor, cleaner fine detail, more calm between the instruments. The distortion figure of -105 dB at 5 watts is remarkable for a Class-D amplifier of this size.
With suitable speakers, the Amp Pro sounds assured and controlled, without becoming pushy. It doesn't force itself into the foreground - which, for a device that runs in the living room all day, is more virtue than shortcoming.
Who is the WiiM Amp Pro for?
For anyone who wants a complete system in one device without skimping on the converter. Especially worthwhile if you already have good speakers and don't want the amplifier to hold them back.
Straight talk: the Amp Pro doesn't have AirPlay 2 - unlike the more affordable base model. In an Apple household where everything runs via AirPlay, that's a real argument against it; then the standard WiiM Amp, despite its lesser DAC, is the smarter choice. Also missing: a headphone output, a phono input, and power reserves for large rooms. If you need more power, go for the Amp Ultra.
Our verdict
The WiiM Amp Pro is the sensible middle of the range: more sound quality than the base model, significantly cheaper than the Amp Ultra. If you can't decide between the three, don't stare at spec sheets - talk to us briefly about your room and speakers instead. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil that takes five minutes and often saves a hundred francs.

Frequently asked questions
Does the WiiM Amp Pro have AirPlay 2?
No. The Amp Pro supports Chromecast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Amazon Music Cast, DLNA and Roon Ready, but no AirPlay 2. If you mainly stream from an iPhone or Mac via AirPlay, the more affordable WiiM Amp is the better fit - it does support it.
What's the difference between the WiiM Amp and the WiiM Amp Pro?
The Amp Pro has the better converter (ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M, 120 dB instead of 108 dB), more modern wireless technology with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Output power is identical. What it lacks is AirPlay 2, which the Amp does have - so the decision comes down to your playback path.
Can I connect headphones to the WiiM Amp Pro?
No, there's no headphone output. For headphone use, you need a separate headphone amplifier. Alternatively, the WiiM Ultra as a source provides a genuine headphone output with its own amplifier on the front - we're happy to show you how to combine the two.
Can I connect a TV to the WiiM Amp Pro?
Yes, via HDMI ARC or the optical input. Over HDMI, the TV remote also controls the volume, and Dolby Digital is processed. That way TV sound runs through your stereo speakers instead of the tiny drivers in the screen's frame - the difference is bigger than you'd think.
Why buy the WiiM Amp Pro at HD Zürisee?
Because the choice between Amp, Amp Pro and Amp Ultra depends less on the spec sheet than on your room, your speakers and your playback path. That's exactly what we clarify beforehand instead of letting you find out the hard way afterwards. Plus on-site setup and support from our own technician.
