The Silent Angel Bonn NX is a reference-class audiophile network switch that shields out digital interference and gives your streaming system maximum calm.
While smaller switches feel like accessories, the NX is a full-fledged hi-fi component in full-size format that sits in the rack like a rock in the surf.
Why the Bonn NX?
The NX is the uncompromising flagship of the switch concept, with reserves that the Bonn N8 and N8C deliberately don't push to the limit.
- Dual-layer housing of stainless steel and aluminum: Absorbs mechanical vibration and shields electromagnetic fields, giving the sound stability.
- Top-class high-end TCXO: An especially low-noise clock almost completely eliminates jitter, making voices sound more natural.
- Eight isolated Gigabit ports: Physically separated, so streamer, NAS and server don't interfere with each other's signal.
- Input for external 25 MHz clock: With a master clock like the Genesis GX, precision can be increased even further.
- Grounding terminal: For connecting to a grounding system that further lowers the noise floor.
What you hear
The NX confidently separates complex recordings: with a large orchestra, instrument groups can be clearly located instead of blurring into a wash of sound. The background turns pitch black, the soundstage gains depth, and the digital hardness you previously thought was normal disappears. A little tip from the workshop: connect the grounding terminal to a ground box and the noise floor drops another notch.
Who is the Bonn NX for?
The NX is built for serious music playback at a high level, when the digital source sounds a touch too technical or flat. Bluntly: if you only occasionally listen to Spotify through a small speaker, you'll hardly appreciate the effort, that's no shame, just the wrong league. For a fully resolved high-end system, though, the NX is the foundation.
Our verdict
A heavyweight, literally and sonically. The Bonn NX is the reference among Silent Angel switches and is aimed at anyone who no longer wants to compromise on the digital foundation. Whether your system plays in the NX's league is something we're happy to work out with you at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil.

Frequently asked questions
Can I run the Bonn NX with an external power supply?
Yes. There's a 12 V DC input on the back. The internal power supply is already very good, but a linear power supply like the Forester F2 or FX can bring even more calm to the sound, especially in resolving systems.
What's the external clock input for?
The 25 MHz clock input lets you couple the NX to a master clock such as the Silent Angel Genesis GX. This synchronizes the digital chain to a shared, high-precision time reference and sharpens spatial imaging further.
Does the NX need special network cables?
It gets a lot out of any cable, but it shows its full potential with well-shielded CAT7 or CAT8 cables and clean connectors. The run to the streamer is the most sonically sensitive, that's where quality pays off most.
Why buy the Bonn NX at HD Zürisee?
Reference devices deserve advice, not blind ordering. At our Wädenswil store we honestly assess whether your system plays in the NX's league, and take care of setup, clock connection and authorized warranty. Our technician Mauri is on hand for installation and service.
Goes well with
The NX is the heart of a high-end network. Pair it with a master clock and a linear power supply from the world of Silent Angel, combine quality network cables, and find the right source under music servers or streamers & network players.
