A Moonriver amplifier is a handcrafted integrated amplifier or phono preamp built in Sweden that relies on purely analogue technology rather than streaming features.

Moonriver builds by hand in Malmö: the 404 integrated amplifier with five independent power supplies and factory-provided free slots for phono and DAC modules, the more powerful 404 Reference version with almost double the power supply capacity, and the standalone 505 hybrid phono preamp with four inputs for MM and MC cartridges. If you want to expand the 404 later, we also carry the matching internal modules – MM or MM/MC phono module, plus SPDIF or USB DAC.

Choosing Moonriver means deliberately choosing reduced amplifier technology without streaming or digital inputs out of the box – in exchange for the freedom to add only what you actually need, later. Well suited to anyone who already has vinyl or an external source at home and prefers understatement to a long feature list. If you want network streaming built directly into the amplifier from day one, you'll be better served by our network integrated amplifiers.
