The Audio Desk Systeme Vinyl Cleaner Premium is a fully automatic ultrasonic record cleaning machine that cleans both sides of an LP at once and then dries it.
Insert the record, press the button, wait a good five minutes – and it comes out clean, dry and antistatic. No hand crank, no suction nozzle, no wiping with cloths. It's built by hand at Audiodesksysteme Gläss in Königsbronn; the Premium is the fifth generation of this line and the successor to the Vinyl Cleaner Pro X.
Why the Vinyl Cleaner Premium?
Most record cleaning machines are good at one of two things – scrubbing or ultrasound. The Premium combines both: four microfiber rollers mechanically loosen coarse dirt, the ultrasonic bath gets out of the groove what a cloth never can, and high-pressure jets rinse away the loosened dirt. Two fans then dry the record without contact. Because nothing is vacuum-extracted, the LP doesn't build up static charge – so it doesn't attract fresh dust the moment it comes out.
What you get
A result you can hear: less crackle, quieter grooves, more air between the notes – especially with flea-market finds and older pressings. Operation is deliberately simple, one button is enough, the electronics do the rest. The fifth generation also brings the in-house Silent Core One drive system: more powerful, audibly quieter and with a noticeably shorter drying time than its predecessor. One tank fill cleans many records before you need to change the water. Be honest: anyone with a larger collection will enjoy washing records for the first time.
Who is the Vinyl Cleaner Premium right for?
For collectors, dealers and anyone who considers their records too precious for compromise – and who cleans larger quantities regularly. Straight talk: if you own thirty records and dust them off twice a year, you don't need a fully automatic ultrasonic machine; a good brush and a simple wet bath will do just fine. The Premium pays off through volume – and through the value of the records you're protecting.
Our verdict
The record cleaning machine that others have had to measure themselves against for years – uncompromising in its cleaning, effortless to operate. Not a bargain, but an investment for life (and for the collection). If you're unsure whether the Premium is worth it for your collection, write to us or call our Wädenswil store – we'll tell you honestly whether you need the big machine or whether a size down will do just as well.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Vinyl Cleaner Premium clean both sides at the same time?
Yes. The record stands vertically in the bath, and both sides are worked simultaneously by microfiber rollers and ultrasound. You don't need to flip the LP or run it through twice – one pass cleans, rinses and dries the whole record.
How long does a cleaning cycle take?
Around five minutes per record for the complete wash, rinse and dry cycle; about three minutes of that is drying. Afterwards you can play the LP right away or slip it into a fresh inner sleeve. No additional polishing or drying is needed.
Do you need special fluid or distilled water?
You fill in 4.5 liters of distilled water and add the Audio Desk cleaning concentrate, around 20 ml per fill. Both are available to reorder as consumables. Tap water isn't recommended, since limescale leaves residue on the record.
What consumables does the Vinyl Cleaner Premium need?
Three things: cleaning concentrate, wet filter and, now and then, fresh microfiber rollers. All three are available separately or bundled in the 500 maintenance kit. How often you replace them depends on how many records you wash and how dirty they are.
