The Tannoy Westminster Royal GR is the flagship of the Prestige Gold Reference series: a 2-way floorstanding speaker that loads a 15-inch Dual Concentric driver into a 530-litre rear folded horn.

It's the largest, most elaborate and most uncompromising cabinet Tannoy builds — nearly 1.40 metres tall, almost a metre wide, 138 kilos per speaker. Only three models in the company's history use this principle: Autograph, GRF and Westminster.

Why the Westminster Royal GR?

Because the folded horn takes over below around 200 Hz and carries the bass down to 18 Hz — without the cone having to do the work through excursion. Combined with 99 dB sensitivity, that gives a composure that's unique even in this price class. HiFiReport, in its review (2021), called the Westminster Royal GR the rightful heir to Tannoy's history and highlighted the sheer scale of its reproduction.
