The HD ONE in the bi-amp version is a hand-assembled high-end speaker cable that connects each speaker to two separate amplifier channels via four dedicated conductors.

It's built at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, cut to your desired length: silver-plated strands for the treble, tinned ones for the bass.

Why the HD ONE in bi-amp?

Honestly: a cable doesn't make your sound better – one that's too thin makes it worse. The HD ONE keeps resistance low and capacitance low. In the bi-amp version, two separate conductor pairs run per speaker to the treble and bass terminals, each on its own amplifier channel.

A ready-made stereo set for genuine bi-amping: per speaker, four solid spread-type banana plugs on the amplifier side, four on the speaker side, all 24-carat gold-plated. Stripping, twisting strands, quiet cursing – all eliminated.

Who is the bi-amp version for?

For you, if your speakers have two pairs of terminals (bridges removed) and two amplifier channels are available per side. Straight talk: without that second channel, bi-amping makes no sense – then the single-wire or bi-wire version is the more honest choice. And honestly: it remains a refinement, not a transformation.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between bi-wiring and bi-amping?

Bi-wiring only separates the cable paths: one amplifier feeds the treble and bass terminals via two separate conductor pairs. With bi-amping, each branch additionally gets its own amplifier channel. The crossover in the speaker stays active in both cases – so you don't need an external crossover, but you do need speakers with two pairs of terminals.

When does bi-amping actually pay off?

When you already have two amplifier channels per side and speakers with two pairs of terminals. Then you gain control in the bass and a bit more calm in the treble, because the branches no longer share one amplifier stage. If you'd first have to buy a second amplifier stage, you're better off investing in placement and room acoustics.

What length should I choose?

Measure the actual cable path along the wall, skirting board and furniture, not the straight-line distance, and add a bit of slack. The HD ONE is available from 2 × 0.5 to 2 × 5.0 metres in half-metre steps, special lengths on request. Both sides are assembled to the same length.

Do the banana plugs fit my connections?

The solid spread-type banana plugs fit all common binding posts on amplifiers and speakers. Safety sockets with a plastic cap need to be opened or removed beforehand. If your devices only have screw terminals without banana sockets, let us know before ordering – then we'll clarify the assembly with you in advance.
