Honestly

Grado is character, not diplomacy: open-back, meaning sound leaks both ways, and the plain on-ear design is a matter of taste when it comes to comfort. If you want a neutral, sealed-off box, look elsewhere. If you like rock, jazz and vocals with some bite, you'll fall in love – which is exactly why you hear them at our place first.

Frequently asked questions about Grado

What's the difference between the Classic and X series?

The Classic series is Grado's current generation with the new X2 driver, gradually replacing the X series. As long as stock lasts, we carry both in parallel – we'll show you the difference directly, side by side.

Why are Grado headphones open-back?

The open-back design brings that typical airiness and directness. The price for it: sound gets in and out – great at home, not so great on the train.

Are Grado cartridges any good?

Yes – the MM systems are a proven, musical way into better vinyl sound. We'll mount and align them for you, ready to go.

Are Grado headphones comfortable?

The on-ear design is lightweight but takes some getting used to. Best to put them on at our place and decide for yourself.
