The Canton Townus 50 is a 2.5-way centre speaker from the Townus range in real walnut veneer, built for clear film dialogue.

Veneer instead of lacquer: this version suits living rooms where wood is already present, and it ages far more gracefully than any piano-lacquer finish. Technically, it's the same centre channel as in black or white – two titanium mid-woofers, a ceramic dome, bass reflex firing rearward. Supplied as a single unit.

Why the Canton Townus 50?

A centre channel has a thankless job: it usually sits wedged into a piece of furniture, directly under the screen, and is still expected to speak cleanly. Canton solves this through layout – two 154 mm titanium diaphragms with wave surrounds either side of the 25 mm ceramic dome – and through a low-set crossover at 400 Hz.
