Collection: CANTON

Canton is a German speaker manufacturer from Weilrod in the Taunus, building floorstanding, bookshelf, wall and in-wall speakers as well as subwoofers, soundbars and active streaming systems since 1972. The upper series are still made at the home site today, the GLE series at Canton's plant in Tachov, Czech Republic. No craft-workshop mythology with parts selected by moonlight, but engineering work backed by a measurement lab.

• CD series – flat design speakers like the CD 220.3 and CD 250.3, wall-mountable or discreetly freestanding.
• AR – Dolby Atmos add-on modules for existing speakers, radiating off the ceiling.
• Sub – active subwoofers from the Sub 601 to the Vento Sub 1.
• Smart – active speakers, soundbars and Libero sets, plus Smart Amp and Smart Connect as a streaming hub.
• Atelier InWall, InWall, InCeiling – in-wall and in-ceiling speakers for when the technology should disappear.

What you choose by

First the form factor: freestanding, wall-mounted, or invisibly built in. Then the room – small rooms don't need a three-way tower, large ones starve on a compact box. Last, passive or active: you combine passive Canton freely with your amplifier, the Smart series brings power amps and streaming along, but ties you to the Canton ecosystem. Frequently asked questions

Passive Canton or the active Smart series?

Passive models need an amplifier, but can be combined freely. The Smart series has power amps and streaming built in, but locks you into the Canton system. If you already have an amplifier: go passive.

What's the difference between GLE S2, Townus and Vento?

GLE S2 is the entry series with a straightforward sound. Townus focuses on bigger drivers and more cabinet effort, Vento on finer resolution and more elaborate build. The difference is clear, but not a different world.

Can Canton in-wall speakers be retrofitted?
