The Canton Atelier OnWall 9 is an on-wall speaker that brings the slim 3-way sound of the Atelier 9 series visibly onto the wall instead of recessing it.

It shares its driver complement with the InWall 9, but hangs in front of the wall via a flat VESA bracket — ideal if you can't or don't want to cut into the wall. In satin black, it still barely stands out.

Why the Atelier OnWall 9?

Because a 128 mm aluminum-titanium woofer-midrange driver, together with two passive radiators, reaches down to 35 Hz — remarkable for a panel that's barely wider than a door frame. That makes it a fully capable main speaker in normal-sized living rooms, not a stopgap.

A clean, airy sound with surprisingly solid foundation. Voices sit clearly centered, instruments keep their scale — and because nothing had to be hidden in the wall, installation is done in an afternoon.

Who is the Atelier OnWall 9 suited for?

For living rooms, offices and multi-room systems where you can't or don't want to cut into the wall — a rented apartment, a concrete wall, or you're just not sure yet about the position. Plain talk: if you want to fill a large room at home cinema levels, go for the OnWall 11 or plan for a subwoofer. And if you want a completely invisible wall, the InWall 9 is the right choice.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to cut into the wall for the Atelier OnWall 9?

No. The OnWall 9 is screwed directly onto the wall via a VESA-compatible bracket (100 × 100 mm) — no cut-out at all. Two load-bearing fixing points are enough; we plan the cable routing with you in advance.

What's the difference between the OnWall 9 and the OnWall 11?

The OnWall 9 is narrower and lighter and reaches down to 35 Hz, the OnWall 11 plays down to 32 Hz and handles more power. For normal living rooms, the 9 is plenty; in larger rooms, the 11 pays off. We're happy to work out which fits your room.

Can I relocate the OnWall 9 afterward?

Yes, that's the big advantage over the InWall version. Since nothing disappears into the wall, the bracket can be moved with some effort if your room layout changes. It's not entirely without a trace, though.

Is the Atelier OnWall 9 sold individually or in pairs?

Individually — Canton lists it as a single speaker, and our sales unit is accordingly one piece. For stereo, you need two; for a surround system, correspondingly more plus the Atelier OnWall 9 C center.
