The Blok Stax 2G Module LP is a build level for the modular Stax 2G rack that offers 350 mm of usable height for records standing upright. In this finish, black-stained ash sits alongside natural walnut – a material mix that carries dark electronics without the furniture itself getting loud.

Why the Module LP?

Because your record collection and your system rarely end up in the same place. The Stax 2G solves that by letting you build your rack from levels: at the bottom the Base Module with height-adjustable feet, above it the module heights 120, 170 and 220 for electronics – and in between or on top, the Module LP whenever vinyl needs to join in. Every level sits on silicone isolation pads that stop structure-borne noise before it spreads. The supports are hollow and can be filled with roughly five litres of damping material each – if you want your rack calmer, there's an actual dial to turn here.

What you get out of it

Your records stand upright, within reach and in view instead of in a box under the sofa. At the same time, the level remains a full equipment shelf: 40 kg load capacity and 350 mm clear height take even a tall tube amplifier or a turntable with the lid open. And because the system is bolted together in a stack, it grows with you – one more level instead of a whole new piece of furniture.

Who is the Module LP for?

For anyone who listens to vinyl rather than just owning it, and who'd rather plan their rack than just buy one. Straight talk: the Module LP alone doesn't make a rack – without the Base Module it has no feet and no footprint. And if your collection runs into the hundreds, an LP level is a within-reach shelf, not an archive; for that you need several levels or an additional piece of furniture. If you stream exclusively, the flatter modules 120 or 170 make more sense.

Our verdict

The most honest level in the series: it does exactly one thing, and does it well. Ash black with walnut is the cosiest of the three finishes – warm enough for the living room, calm enough that the system keeps the lead role. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, we work through the stack with you beforehand, so the heights end up matching your gear – not the other way round.

Frequently asked questions

How many records fit in the Module LP?

We reckon on around 40 LPs per level. Blok doesn't give an official count, only the usable area: 350 mm height, 480 mm width and 379 mm depth. How much actually fits depends heavily on your sleeves – double albums and thick gatefolds need noticeably more space.

Do I also need the Base Module?

Yes, for a complete rack you do. The Stax 2G Base Module brings the height-adjustable feet and the bottom level; every other module – including the LP – sits on top of it and is bolted on. You choose the order of heights freely, up to the recommended total height of 1100 mm.

Can I put a component on the LP level instead of records?

Yes. With 350 mm of clear height and 40 kg load capacity, the level also takes tall components that are too tight a fit on the 120, 170 or 220 modules – a tube amplifier, say, or a turntable with the lid open. Vinyl is the reason for this level, not a condition of using it.

How well does the Module LP decouple?

Silicone isolation pads sit between the levels, damping structure-borne noise instead of passing it on. The supports are also hollow: remove the rubber plugs and you can fill roughly five litres each with damping material. That noticeably increases mass and rigidity, and is especially worthwhile on suspended wooden floors.
