The Atlantis Lab AT21 is a high-performance bookshelf speaker with a compression driver and a 90×90° horn that delivers level and dynamics at 96 dB sensitivity, even with small amplifiers.

It is built by the French manufacturer Atlantis Lab, founded in 1998 by Eric Buy, with drivers from Eighteen Sound. The AT21 looks like a bookshelf speaker and behaves like a much bigger one.

Why the AT21?

The treble is handled by a 1-inch compression driver in the horn (called a Dolby Atmos horn by the manufacturer), which radiates in a controlled 90×90° pattern. Horns stand for directness and dynamics, and that is exactly the programme here. Below it works a 21 cm paper woofer from Eighteen Sound, complemented by a 13 cm polypropylene driver on the back.
